But a Super Saiyan's ability to recover was just too strong. Although Shin had coughed up a lot of blood, it had little real effect on him. In fact, his combat power had even increased slightly because of it.
He began to gradually overpower Kyouji. After a prolonged battle, Kyouji was starting to tire, and his leg techniques were becoming sloppy.
Although Kisaragi Rei's fighting power wasn't weak, their attacks couldn't be integrated. They were no match for Shin.
Shin himself was a natural in combat. He knew that a Super Saiyan's healing ability was formidable—they practically got stronger the more they fought. And that was exactly what was happening now.
The situation on the battlefield was crystal clear.
Ishigami Mamoru was treating himself on the ground.
Yoshida Haru was tending to Sakamoto Kenji.
In the sky, Shin was dominating Domon Kyouji, giving him no room to fight back, while Kisaragi Rei's attacks were barely scratching him, with no chance of landing a fatal blow.
If this continued, the Reincarnator team was headed for a loss. Within a few minutes, Kyouji would inevitably be defeated by Shin, and victory would be his. After all, most of the team's combat strength couldn't compare to Shin's.
Except for Domon Kyouji. But now, Kyouji's defeat was certain.
Still, he refused to give up. He began to prepare for a final counter-attack, gathering every last bit of his power and transforming into a whirlwind, drawing in everything around him like a massive tornado.
He slowly roared four words into the sky: "Gale That Topples Towers." Hearing those words, Shin knew what martial art Kyouji practiced.
It was the Wind God Legs from a certain manga.
'So that's what it is.' Shin finally understood.
But at the moment, Shin had no time to think about it. He could feel that this move would likely cause him considerable harm. He certainly wasn't going to just stand there and take it.
He prepared to dodge.
In a flash, he used Instant Transmission, appearing next to the injured Sakamoto Kenji on the ground and snatching him away.
He felt his body couldn't take much more punishment. But for Shin, capturing their leader was enough. He didn't know how strong Kyouji really was, or if he could continue fighting. If he kept clashing with them like this, he really wouldn't have much of an advantage.
Thankfully, he now had his Super Saiyan 2 state. Otherwise, he might have been done for.
With Kenji as a hostage, Shin was safe for now.
However, he was still unaware that Kenji could communicate with the others. In the world of Reincarnators, such an ability was usually reserved for the support class, not the team captain.
So even Shin assumed as much. He guessed that the communication function, likely a form of mental link, belonged to the support member on the ground. That was why, faced with two targets on the ground, he had chosen to grab Kenji instead of Yoshida Haru.
If he had grabbed Haru, he would have most likely contacted his teammates, and he would never have been able to escape the pursuit of all four. It would also give them time to prepare, to specifically devise a plan to deal with him. If they fought again under those circumstances, his disadvantage would only grow.
At that very moment, Kenji was secretly contacting his team.
Kenji: "Don't come after me. Continue the mission. Find the time machine fragments."
Haru: "Why? Where is he taking you?"
Kyouji: "Can we leave as soon as the main quest is done?"
Kenji: "Yes. We can leave anytime after the main quest is finished. Go quickly."
Kenji: "It's fine. From what I can tell, I'm not in any real danger."
Kenji: "He doesn't seem to want to kill me. I think he's more interested in studying me. You all need to hurry."
Haru, Kyouji, Mamoru, Rei: "Roger that."
Completely unknown to Shin, Kenji had already issued his orders. This way, even if Shin decided to finish him off later, he had a good chance of using a quick return to the Main God Space to save his own life. After all, no matter how strong Shin was, he had no way of tearing through space to chase him into the Main God's domain.
The power of the Main God was unknown, but it was certainly unfathomable.
But Shin had no time to think about such things. For him, he now had a captive—a captive from the Main God Space.
This person was his ticket to leaving this world, or at least a new path back to his own.
With that in mind, Shin was naturally quite pleased. He had no intention of killing Kenji. From what he knew of the Reincarnation worlds, these people could use certain items to bring others into the Main God Space. And they could return to this world for a small fee.
Shin thought with a hint of narcissism, 'With my strength, how could they not want to recruit me? Such powerful combatants are always in high demand.'
Whether outside the Main God Space or within it, this held true. In these worlds where strength was king, any powerful individual was a reliable asset, a guarantee of safety. After all, they were the kind of person who could save your life in a critical moment.
