Just then, the door creaked open behind her.
She turned—just as Sohwa stepped in and stopped short, startled.
“You stayed up all night again?!”
If Hwayeong was already up, it could only mean she hadn’t slept at all.
Sohwa looked horrified, but Hwayeong quickly waved a hand.
“I slept just fine. Even I wake up early once in a while.”
“...I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen.”
When Sohwa pointed out that in ten years, it had never once happened, Hwayeong paused—then nodded.
“You’re probably right. But I really did sleep last night. I didn’t even have the energy to step out.”
Even for her, three days of running around at dawn was a bit much.
Still, Sohwa eyed her suspiciously.
It wasn’t until she noticed how clear and rested Hwayeong looked that she gave a small nod, seemingly convinced.
“If you say so... I’ll believe you—just for today.”
“You can believe me every day.”
