Chapter 190 - Renewed Republic Military

When Progenitor Nyssa arrived on Tirahnn, things were looking desperate. The Sith had overwhelmed the defenses, managing to send ground troops while they were still engaging the orbital defenses.

The General in charge of the defense had been captured after he was betrayed by a few Republic troopers under Sith influence, leaving the ground without any central leadership.

When Progenitor Nyssa heard all of this, she ordered the newly formed defense fleet to engage. This was the first engagement since she took up this new position, and she wasn't going to disappoint the Emperor, or the people of the Republic.

She took direct command of the battle, using battle meditation to synchronize the ships, fighters, and gunners as one. The first few minutes of the engagement saw, the Republic fleet managing to outmaneuver the Sith Imperial fleet.

And though there were casualties, the Republic fleet managed to breakthrough a part of the fleet, allowing for the ground forces to land and reinforce the Tirahnn defense army.

In the Hanger of her new capital ship, a Republic Valor-class cruiser. Standing in front of her in the hanger was her two aides, holding her helmet. Behind them were her honor guard, and then the Republic troopers who were about to drop down with her.

She looked at their faces and could feel that almost all of them were eager for this battle. Most of it was due to her presence. She may not be an actual Republic officer, but she was one of the famed Progenitors.

While the Emperor was the most known throughout the galaxy, the Progenitors were within the top 5. Just their presence on a battlefield could change the fate of the battle. And throughout history, the Progenitors had never lost a battle.

With all of these things in mind, the Republic troopers couldn't wait to get a taste of that power.

They were all looking at Progenitor Nyssa, their Supreme Commander for her orders.

She grabbed her helmet and held it in her hands as she prepared to speak. "This battle here will determine the fate of the war. If we are successful, then the war will turn around and there will be more victories in the future. If we fail, then the Sith will be allowed to breach the Core world." She paused for a moment and put her helmet on while her words settled into the soldier's minds.

"But I won't allow them to win!" she shouted through her helmet's speaker. "I declare here today that we will defeat the Sith in this battle, and we will defeat the Sith in this war!" The hanger erupted in cheers, but she wasn't done yet. She held up her hand and the shouting subsided. "In the past, all of you have been betrayed by your leaders. Today, I will show you how a real leader fights. I will be on the front lines with you, and we will win!" With that, the troopers were more than ready.

She was the last to board the first wave of dropships, the Republic troopers already onboard, waiting for her. Once she stepped on, the doors closed, and the dropship was released into space. "All ships, follow the Supreme Commander's dropship." Ordered the captain of her ship.

The Republic dropships from other ships all launched and followed Progenitor Nyssa's ship down to the surface. The Republic fleet had refocused fire to support the descent of the dropships by diverting fire away from the hole they made in the Sith fleet.

On the surface, the Sith had already done a good amount of damage to the defenders who were still holding out. With the General of the defense army captured, a few senior officers under him had taken charge and attempted to form a united front, but the Sith had already managed to separate parts of the defense army and isolate them.

As Nyssa's dropship breached the atmosphere, the pilot flew directly to where the old command center was. There the Republic flag had been replaced with the Sith banner.

After a rough ride through air defenses and avoiding the dog fights between Republic and Sith fighters, the dropships had arrived at their landing spot.

It was directly in a hot zone which was already under fire by the Sith troopers and Sith droids from on top of the walls of the old commander center.

When the dropship doors opened, she was the first one out, holding up her hand and deflected the blaster bolts from the Sith garrison. The republic troopers followed, shouting their war cries. "For Tirahnn! For the Republic!" they yelled.

The Sith forces, taken by surprise, regrouped and pushed back against the new assault, but the presence of Nyssa and her personal command changed everything.

Nyssa led the charge followed by her honor guard and tens of thousands of Republic troopers and vehicles. The defenses of the commander center were immediately shattered after Nyssa ran right through it, creating a massive breach where she began killing all the Sith.

There were 10 Sith Lords who were defending the command center including the Sith Lord who was in charge of the invasion. Once they got word that a Progenitor was leading the Republic counterattack, the Sith Lords got together to attack Nyssa all together.

Thinking that her skills would be overwhelmed if they all attacked at once. But they were wrong. One of the Sith Lords leapt at her with his lightsaber, but she caught him midair and slammed him into the ground with enough force to leave a crater.

She then used her own crossguard white saber and cut through the next two Sith in a single swing. The remaining Lords hesitated, realizing she was not like any opponent they'd faced before. As they regrouped and tried to surround her, Republic troopers, under Nyssa's command, filled the breach and swarmed the command center.

The Sith had no choice but to commit everything they had to regain control. They sent more droids, more troops, and more Sithspawn to crush the advance. None of it worked. Nyssa was a force of nature, cutting through Sith Lords and troopers with precision and efficiency.

Her battle meditation extended to the Republic soldiers, uniting them in purpose and making them fight as if they were a single entity. She was in the heart of the fighting, and her presence turned what should have been a desperate assault into a stunning victory.

The Sith commander, believing himself superior, attempted a final, personal strike. He charged at Nyssa with two lightsabers, fueled by rage and desperation. She deflected his first flurry of attacks, then caught him by the wrist, breaking it with a swift motion. His lightsabers clattered to the ground as Nyssa tossed him aside.

She then turned to the Republic troopers behind her and shouted. "Push forward! Leave none standing!" The order echoed through the battlefield, spreading to soldiers who once thought they were destined to die during this battle, now ignited with purpose and strength.

Within hours, the Sith's main invasion force was either dead or in full retreat. The Republic's renewed strength, under Nyssa's command, was unlike anything they had faced since the war began.

The battlefield was filled with the aftermath of failed defenses from the Sith, with wrecked droids, downed transports, and shattered Sith banners.

In the days that followed, similar victories were recorded at Taanab and Trandosha. The coordinated defense and counterattack broke the momentum of the Sith Empire, buying the Republic more time. It also brought them hope again after these successful battles were broadcast across the Republic.

On every front, morale had surged. The Core, once weary if the impending Sith invasion was now certain that the Sith would not reach them.

The Sith who were confident in their conquest, now found themselves reevaluating the Republic's strength and the effect of Nyssa's leadership.

Chancellor Ranik addressed the Senate, declaring that this was the beginning of their path to victory.

By the end of the month, recruitment stations reported a 300% increase in enlistment. Corporations, once hesitant to fully commit, doubled their production and pledged support for the duration of the war. Anti-war movements were shut down by the overwhelming patriotic Republicans who now had something to cheer for.

The corporations who were working with the Sith were now under investigation and would in the future be trialed and found guilty.

The Republic was getting a taste of what it was like to have one Progenitor leading them. Many began to see how the Imperium rose to power as they had 10 of these beings leading them, in addition to the Emperor was seen as a God.

Hearing the news from Veldari, Daimon wasn't surprised that things were going this way. He knew Nyssa and how capable she was. Just like any Progenitor, she could take a failing empire and turn it into a powerhouse.

Putting that news aside, he looked over the reports for the latest information on the Son's whereabouts. It was the same as it was a few months ago, which worried him. The Son was a being who has lived millions of years and had access to information that could shake the galaxy.

If he doesn't find out where he is, then things will start to get really dark, really soon.
