This was her room.
She glanced at the floor.
There were no maggots.
No piles of hair.
Nothing.
She ran her hands across her body frantically.
Everything was normal.
Slowly she stood and walked to the window.
Outside she saw the Moon Glades.
The familiar silver structures of her homeland.
Her knees buckled.
"A dream…" she muttered weakly as she sank to the floor.
"It was just a dream."
Her hands trembled as she touched her eyes.
Then she heard the voice again.
"Yes."
"It was a dream."
The whisper of the Unknown God echoed softly in her mind.
Sylvia froze.
"You are—"
"Our covenant still stands."
Her hands began to shake uncontrollably.

A man sat in a chair.
In his hand was a book.
His skin was dark and smooth, his long silver hair cascading down his shoulders.
His beauty was otherworldly.
Perfect.
Anyone who looked upon him would feel themselves drawn in.
