Damon didn't really like the march or how long it took to prepare. He was sure that if Aetherus had his body for this long, he would have figured out by now that Damon was mostly a demon. He was only a tiny step away from becoming a true demon.
He had very much expected the Holy Emperor to accuse him of being a demon and claim that was why Aetherus had attacked him, but he didn't. Which made it quite obvious that the Holy Emperor did not know.
Aetherus was arrogant, or maybe he had a plan. Surely, he was not stupid enough to think he could just get away with taking Damon's body.
And even if he did, so what? The Outsiders were more powerful than he was. Individually or collectively, they were out of this world in both knowledge and power.
Damon glanced at the flying probes while sitting atop a large war bicorn.
