It was layered with thousands of overlapping voices, some containing a mocking tone, some even sounding melodic, and others screaming in agony.

The voice slithered into his ears like worms.
From the darkness, a figure slowly took shape.

Not in any fixed form, but a towering, ever-shifting mass of writhing shadows and too many eyes. Countless golden irises opened across his body, blinking at different times.
