"Let us go," Max said as he began to move despite the little eye still stuck to his left shoulder.
The small cursed eye blinked slowly as it shifted against him, and every now and then, its tiny red-black pupil moved as if studying the surroundings.
Sometimes it stayed on his shoulder. Sometimes it slid slightly across his upper arm. Sometimes it floated just a hair's breadth away from his body before attaching itself again, as if it was neither fully physical nor fully illusory.
The sight was disturbing to everyone else, but Max did not pay it much attention after realizing that brute force could not destroy it for now. As long as this thing did not restrict his movement or interfere in his battles, he could not care less about it at the moment.
With that, the group once again began moving.
Max walked at the front, Dragonheart resting in his hand, while Caroline, Jessica, Nancy, and the other third faction elves followed closely behind him.
