Chapter 382: Tang San's Ambush and the Fall of Spirit City
Taking advantage of Golden Crocodile Douluo's full focus on the battle, Tang San struck while Lightfeather Douluo's attention was entirely absorbed. Ignoring whether Bear Lord could hold his own, Tang San wielded the massive Clear Sky Hammer, launching his hundred-thousand-year soul skill directly at Porcupinefish Douluo, who was preoccupied with holding back a swarm of soul beasts.
Caught off guard while managing his powers to the limit, Porcupinefish Douluo was entirely unprepared for Tang San's ambush. With no choice, he gritted his teeth and activated his martial soul avatar, unleashing his ninth soul skill in a desperate attempt to defend himself.
But against Tang San's hundred-thousand-year soul skill and the assault of a powerful soul beast, his efforts were in vain. The massive Venomous Blood Porcupine was shattered, his head crushed beneath Tang San's hammer in a fatal blow. Even in death, his hands twitched in a final show of defiance.
Without a moment's hesitation, Tang San summoned his Dark Blue Silver Grass, instantly engulfing Porcupinefish Douluo's lifeless body. In a matter of seconds, Tang San drained the remnants of his soul power, leaving behind only a pile of dry bones.
The scene filled Qian Daoliu and the other Titled Douluo with seething hatred. Qian Daoliu's expression contorted with rage as his golden sword surged with fury, vowing to end the life of the man who had slain Spirit Empire's elders.
But Di Tian, on the other hand, couldn't help but smile, growing more impressed with Tang San. Tang San was showing himself worthy of a real negotiation. Killing a Titled Douluo was no simple feat, as each was a formidable warrior, seasoned and resilient. Yet Tang San had struck down two Titled Douluo in quick succession, so swiftly that they hadn't even had a chance to self-destruct.
Golden Crocodile Douluo bellowed in fury, "Tang San, you traitor to humanity! Even though the Clear Sky Clan has its flaws, they were always honorable. Who would've thought you'd become a turncoat and a cowardly assassin?"
Tang San merely laughed coldly. "Spirit Empire, who are you to speak of honor? If the Clear Sky Clan had been underhanded like you, they might've survived. My father and uncle died because of you, and now you'll pay for it."
Lion Douluo roared, "Cowardly scum of the Clear Sky Clan! Traitor to humanity!" The cry spread like wildfire, and soon the whole field was shouting curses at Tang San, their fury amplifying their resolve.
But Tang San only laughed louder. "Your hatred means nothing to me. My father and uncle died because of you. I'm here to make you understand my pain. I, Tang San, will not rest until Spirit Empire is eradicated!"
With the fall of two Titled Douluo, the battle became even more brutal, a scene of blood and fire where soul masters and beasts alike perished. The battlefield was a nightmarish landscape of carnage.
Bear Lord, left in a desperate position, had assumed Tang San would help him take down Golden Crocodile Douluo. But suddenly, he found himself beset by both Golden Crocodile Douluo and Lightfeather Douluo, who launched their eighth and ninth soul skills with everything they had, determined to end him. Bear Lord could only rely on his claws and powerful body to endure the onslaught, his form riddled with injuries and bleeding profusely.
Despite Spirit Empire's renewed morale, the scales of battle were tipping. With the loss of two Titled Douluo, Spirit Empire found itself struggling against three more opponents of equal caliber: Tang San and two hundred-thousand-year soul beasts.
Previously, Demon Bear Douluo had managed to keep a ten-thousand-year soul beast at bay with the help of Lightfeather Douluo and several Contras. But now, gaping vulnerabilities appeared in the defense, and the relentless assault of the soul beasts caused the walls to shake ominously. Even the formidable defenses of Spirit City could not withstand repeated blows from so many high-level soul beasts.
Seeing the battle turn in his favor, Tang San activated his martial soul avatar, transforming into a towering shadow wielding a colossal Clear Sky Hammer. The apparition of the hammer, once crimson, had now turned pitch-black, emanating an aura of endless darkness.
The Clear Sky Hammer came crashing down with an overwhelming force, as though it would shatter the very heavens. Soul masters threw every skill they had at it, but the mighty hammer obliterated the city wall. Countless soul masters and defending soldiers were crushed to dust.
With that one strike, Spirit Empire's last line of defense crumbled. Soul beasts surged through the breach, flooding into the city.
As they flooded in, Tang San's Dark Blue Silver Grass spread like wildfire, devouring the fallen without mercy. Every scrap of flesh was stripped away in seconds.
Witnessing the devastation, many Soul Saints and Contras of Spirit Empire resorted to self-destruction, unleashing explosions of violent soul power and their final remnants of flesh, their deaths a testament to their defiance.
Standing atop the ruined wall, Tang San laughed maniacally, his face twisted with malevolent glee. "Today marks the end of Spirit Empire! I will eradicate you all!"
At his command, the Dark Blue Silver Grass surged over the broken wall, hungrily consuming everyone in its path. Any Titled Douluo who tried to intercept Tang San was held at bay by soul beasts.
Unhindered, Tang San strode atop the breached wall, leading two hundred-thousand-year soul beasts with him, as Spirit Empire's forces began to collapse.
In a final, desperate attempt to rally his forces, Qian Daoliu unleashed his ninth soul skill, Angel's Light. A massive six-winged angel radiated an endless golden brilliance, seeking to obliterate Tang San and the soul beasts.
