Chapter 5 - Chapter five

Days went by. Me, Ava and Xavier hung out almost everyday in school and at my dad's work. All of us were starting to become closer together. It was now the weekend. We are all going to the new museum today. I got dressed in a nice dress. It flowed to my ankles. The dress was a nice green colour. It had little white flowers all over the dress. I also wore my hair half up half down. I even wore the sandals that matched perfectly with the dress.

I sighed heavily as I looked at myself in the mirror. I smiled softly before grabbing my purse and I headed downstairs. My mom and dad were in the kitchen, drinking their coffee. I looked over at them and when they saw me, they smiled happily and brightly.

"Good morning!" My dad said as he gave me a cup of coffee. I smiled softly and took the cup from him and drank it. "Thank you dad!" I said as I sat down in my seat.

"So, you, Ava and Xavier are going to the new museum, correct?" My mom asked. I nodded my head gently and another sip of my coffee. I gently set it down on the table and I looked at the two.

"What are you guys going to make for dinner tonight? Xavier is coming over with his family still. I just want to know what you guys might make for them." I said as I crossed my arms.

"Well, we were thinking about making something homemade you know?" My dad stated. "Like homemade chicken and gravy with sides." He said. I nodded my head as I listened to him. "That actually sounds good." I said drinking the rest of my coffee before I heard a beep outside. Ava is here. I got up, rinsed my coffee up out and put it in the dishwasher. I looked at my parents and I smiled gently. "Alright, I will see y'all later then." I said as I smiled softly. I hugged them and kissed them on their cheeks before I walked out of the house. I ran to Ava's car and got in.

"Hey girl!" Ava practically screamed when I got to the car. I smiled happily as I heard her. "Hey!" I said back and I put my seat belt on. "You ready for the museum?" She asked me. I quickly nodded my head before she pressed the gas.

After some time and a coffee run, we finally made it to the museum. I looked around the place before I got out of the car. I looked over and I saw a familiar figure standing by the trees. I smiled happily and waved to him. Xavier waved back and came to us. "Y'all ready for the museum!?" He said happily. Me and Ava put our hands up and spoke at the same time. "WE ARE!" All three of us laughed before we went inside the museum. We scanned our tickets and we walked around the place, seeing the beautiful artifacts.

I looked up at them and I smiled softly. "You know, the museums in London actually steal the artifacts for their museum?" I said as I looked at the two. I saw Xavier purse his lips. "No, I actually didn't know about that actually." He stated.

"Well, don't you think museums just steal artifacts in general? Like, think about it! Look at all of these items before you!" Ava said, her arms spread apart to show the area. "Don't you think that these items were stolen from the native lands?!?" She said, raising her voice a bit. She always does that when she gets a bit upset about it.

I nodded my head. "You do have a point actually." I said looking around the place. Xavier also looked around as well, nodding his head. "Yeah, I can see where you are coming from with it." We both nodded our heads at Ava. "See! And we have to pay to see stolen artifacts! If anything, it should be free and sent back to their homeland!" She stated.

I chuckled softly before I went over to her, and I grabbed her coffee. I gave it to Xavier. "No more coffee for you today! You had too much." I said, laughing a bit. Xavier held the coffee in his hands and giggled a bit from Ava's pouting face. "You had too much coffee so I had to take it away from you!" I said crossing my arms. Ava stormed out of the section to look at another section of the museum. I looked over at Xavier. "Sorry. She gets like this when she has too much caffeine."

Xavier chuckled a bit. "No, no. It's okay. My old friends used to be that way as well. Also, you look really pretty in that dress by the way." He stated. I felt my cheeks slowly start to burn from the compliment. I quickly looked down at my dress and I gently brushed it down with my hands.

"Thank you..." I said shyly. I looked back up at him as I had a soft smile. Almost like a nervous or shy smile. I wasn't used to compliments from other people, other than my parents and Ava obviously. Xavier smiled gently at me before I cleared my throat. "Maybe we should go and find Ava so she doesn't run away from us." I said before I walked away to find her. I looked around for her as I tried to cover up my blushing face.

I heard Ava's voice as she read one of the little things that tells you facts about the artifact. I followed her voice, and I saw her reading a plaque about the tablet that they have found. I went up behind her and I poked her sides. She yelped but then turned around and slapped my arm.

"What the hell was that for?!" She yelled. I couldn't help but chuckle from her reaction. "Dude, you ran off, so it is a perfect reason for me to scare you!" I said before I crossed my arms.

"Well, you were the one who took my coffee!" She said crossing her arms and pouted.

"Listen Ava, you were literally starting to raise your voice and you usually do that when you have too much caffeine or when you are tired." I said laughing a bit. I heard her sigh in defeat from what I said. "Fine...you win..." She said crossing her arms and looking down. I laughed at her reaction. I couldn't help it.

I heard footsteps coming from a different part of the building and Xavier popped up. He looked over at Ava and started to laugh. "Is someone upset still that they don't have their coffee?" He asked, still holding her coffee. Ava nodded her head before looking away at different things in the area.

"She won't talk for a bit since she doesn't have her coffee. Give her the coffee." I whispered to Xavier. He nodded his head and walked over to her. He tapped her shoulder. Ava turned around and saw Xavier extending his arm out that held the coffee in his hand. She smiled happily and took the coffee from him. I chuckled a bit as I saw her reaction from grabbing it.

"Well, now she is happy that she has her coffee now." Xavier said, stepping back to me. I nodded my head and looked up at him. "Oh yeah, she definitely is happy now." I said glancing between the two. Ava looked at the two of us and then spoke. "Mamá y papá!" She laughed at the end. I rolled my eyes and covered my face. Xavier turned around as she heard her say that, trying so hard not to laugh about it.

Hours went by as we were still in the museum. We ate at the cafe before me and Ava left to go back to my house. Xavier left to go back to his place to get ready for dinner with mine and his family. Once we got back to my house, Ava and I went straight to my room. My parents were busy with making dinner for a lot of people. Ava looked over at me and she opened my closet. "Girl, you need to go shower, and I will pick your outfit for the dinner. You gotta catch his parent's eyes and make a good first impression of them! After we get your outfit done, I have to leave because I have to have a family dinner tonight with my family." Ava said before she pushed me into the bathroom.

I sighed heavily as I looked in the mirror. I grabbed my makeup cleanser and took my makeup off. I washed my face, did my skin care and then took my shower. I washed my body, making sure I got the sweat and dirt off. I got out, dried off, and wrapped the towel around my body. I walked out of the bathroom and went to my room. I looked over at Ava who pulled out a couple of outfits for me. "So, I have a couple of fits for you to try and see what looks good on you and what doesn't." She said, pointing to the clothes. I looked at the clothes laid out on my bed. I pursed my lips.

"Hm..." I muttered as I looked at them. One that caught my eye was a long skirt with floral patterns. The shirt for it was a tight short sleeve that was white, to match the flowers on the skirt. I looked at the other outfits. They consisted on jeans and a short sleeve as well. I pursed my lips and I picked up the skirt and the white shirt. "I'm going to wear this one." I said before looking back at her. I saw Ava smile happily as I picked the outfit she first showed me. "I knew you would have picked that one!" She exclaimed happily. She clapped her hands and pushed me, again, into the closet. "Get dressed! I wanna see it on you before I leave to go home!" She said before closing the door behind me. I quickly got changed into the clothes.

I looked at myself in the mirror, did a little twirl. I smiled happily as I loved the outfit. I opened the door to show Ava my outfit. Her eyes lit up happily and she jumped up and down with excitement. "AGHHHH! YES! I KNEW YOU WOULD LOOK GOOD WITH THIS OUTFIT ON YOU!" She exclaimed happily. I twirled in the outfit for her before doing a random pose. We both laughed from it. "His parents will like this outfit. And plus, HE would LOVE this outfit!" Ava practically praising the outfit more.

I chuckled a bit. "Maybe he might. I don't know." I said while looking over at Ava. Her expression was serious. "Girl, I saw the way he was looking at you at the museum. He better of have said something to you about that outfit you wore today!" She spoke. I smiled happily before I nodded my head. "Yes, he did. It was right before we gave you your coffee back actually."

She gasped dramatically. "GIRL! What did he say about it!?!" She said jumping up and down more. I smiled happily. "He said that I looked really pretty in the dress I wore today." I said, covering my face afterwards as I was embarrassed about it. Ava covered her chest and dramatically collapsed onto the bed. "AM I WITNESSING TWO PEOPLE STARTING TO LIKE EACH OTHER SECRETLY?!?!" Ava yelled, throwing her arms in the air dramatically.

I rolled my eyes before I pulled her up from the bed. "Nahhhh. But, you need to go home. You got a family dinner to attend to!" I said before I went downstairs with her. Ava said her goodbyes to my parents before I went to open the front door to walk out with Ava when I was met with Xavier. His hand in a fist to gently knock on the door. He quickly looked at the door before jumping a bit and so did I.

We both looked at each other embarrassed by what happen. Ava looked at us before she whispered. "I'm going home...y'all have fun now!" She said before going to her car. Me and Xavier didn't say anything before we both spoke at the same time. "Hey..." we both said shyly.
