A few days later, the Golden Road expansion westward from Angora City went smoothly underway. The ultimate goal was to reach the isolated region known as the Grafted Cluster—a scattered collection of small settlements, towns, and villages numbering in the double digits.
Unlike Angora City, which was governed by the Duke, the Grafted Cluster didn't have a centralized government. Instead, each settlement maintained its own local government that kept everything in check.
"So does that mean we can construct the Golden Road there without needing any special permission?" Michael asked Yuna.
"That's right," Yuna replied confidently. "The citizens of these settlements would love to have a reliable road to traverse rather than anything else. In fact, they have already submitted a formal request to our family for some assistance with this matter. But you know how it is, without the proper funding, road projects like these never get off the ground."
