Chapter 43 - The Arbitrator

There is no sound of an audience. A strange figure wearing a brown hooded cloak on an elevated stage walks in front of a closed curtain. With a profound air, he begins to address, if any, the viewers.

"Hello there! Nice to meet you! Just to be clear, I am not the narrator of the story, he is actually over there, in the right corner. I am not the director, who is standing up there, directly above me. I am not even an actor, portraying one of our many characters that make up such a fine cast.

Well then who am I you ask? I guess I am technically a character in the story because the story and myself share the same pages and the same stage, but that is all!

The best way for me to describe myself is to think of me as some type of arbitrator. Ah....yes, that is what you should call me. The Arbitrator. Someone who brokers the narrative between the reader, and the one telling the story

I may even interrupt the story occasionally and give you my thoughts or explain important events. That is just an interesting idea I had. Consider it my experiment.

(The Arbitrator walks off of the stage. The room is still for a few seconds, then the curtain begins to open.)
