Sarutobi frowned, setting the scroll aside.
"Usagi Xin... this child has grown even stronger than I anticipated."
If it hadn't been for Tsunade's insistence, Sarutobi might never have allowed Xin to even take the Jonin exams. But now it was clear that Xin's power far exceeded that of a typical Jonin.
Every time it seemed like they had a grasp on his abilities, he revealed another card up his sleeve.
His strength had become a factor that Sarutobi could no longer ignore-especially considering his close ties with both Tsunade and Kushina. If not handled properly, it could become a significant issue for the village.
At least he didn't seem to be aligning himself with the Uchiha clan. That would have made things much more complicated.
Sarutobi sighed and gave his next order. "Announce the peace treaty with Amegakure tomorrow. It'll ease the villagers' concerns."
The war had dragged on, and the people of Konoha were growing weary. Announcing peace would give them something positive to focus on.
Signing the peace treaty with Amegakure was the best option for Konoha. Once the internal matters were stabilized, they could fully focus on dealing with Sunagakure.
"Yes, Lord Hokage." Anbu promptly appeared, collecting the documents and heading off to print them, preparing to post them all over Konoha at dawn.
Xin had been at the camp for two days and hadn't noticed any Anbu or Root operatives trailing or keeping an eye on him. After the camp was properly set up, Xin took on the responsibility of escorting a group of injured shinobi back to Konoha.
Tsunade, on the other hand, had to return with the main forces, which would take significantly longer.
"Xin-sama is truly remarkable only ten years old and already a jonin! That's a record even in Konoha, right?"
"Not just Konoha. In the entire shinobi world, no one else could compare."
"If my son had even half of Xin-sama's talent, I'd be grinning in my sleep!"
"Your son? Please, he's nowhere close to Xin-sama."
"And yours is no better!"
As the group traveled slowly to accommodate the injured, the veterans couldn't help but sing Xin's praises, occasionally getting into heated arguments.
Xin felt a bit awkward at their overzealous compliments but stayed out of the conversation. His focus remained sharp - any trouble with the wounded and the blame would fall on him.
Thankfully, Ophis, his trusted white snake, helped keep watch and provided early warnings for any potential threats.
