He was visiting the wet swamp for the first time, so he could not rest properly. He opened his eyes and began to observe the surroundings.

He also heard the sound of flying beasts—it could be a bat or bird species. This cry also alerted him. He decided to remain active during the nighttime.
He couldn't afford to take a risk. He continued to observe the surroundings. He saw a leopard coming outside.
A flicker of doubt appeared in his eyes.
He knew the corrupted beasts preyed on other corrupted beasts. He could get trapped between their fights.
He didn't make any movement. He silently watched them walk past.
