After all, he was a member of the very family that the guard had sworn to serve.
The armored man, however, noticed the shift in his gaze.
He sensed the resentment clearly, but he did not react as the opinions of someone he considered insignificant held no value to him.
Instead, he turned his attention back to the gorge, calmly assessing the situation and searching for a safe way to traverse the vast and dangerous gap before them.
Meanwhile, the young noblewoman observed everything silently.
Her expression remained composed and unreadable all this while, yet within her mind, her already poor impression of the young man sank even further.
This display of cowardice was not something she had witnessed from him before, and it left her thoroughly unimpressed.
Just as she was about to ask the armored man to find a way across the gorge, he acted on his own without waiting for any instructions from her.
He stepped forward slightly and raised his right hand.
