"Are you just going to stand there and watch me?" He didn't turn, but all of a sudden, the view turned smoky. At this point, I felt he was doing it probably to annoy me. Bastard.

How would I tell him that I wanted to bathe in the river and his maid wouldn't let me simply because they needed his permission first when he was standing right next to the river? She felt he would be crazy enough to stand there and watch me bathe if he was that crazy.

An idea popped into my head. "I wanted to ask why you didn't come for dinner, or maybe you had it somewhere else?" I didn't know how weird that sounded, but judging by the fact that I didn't stutter, he'd believe that was my reason for being there.

"And why would you care?" he asked, and I rolled my eyes. In all honesty, I didn't really care.

I let out a soft breath. I had to care. "We still have a long journey ahead of us. You might get tired, and by the way, I don't want to become a widow at such a young age, trapped in a kingdom I know nothing about." With that being said, I had no plan of going further with the conversation, so I lifted my dress and turned on my heels.

"Are you saying that I am a weakling?" he asked, and I almost stumbled in my steps.

A weakling?

Do I have a death wish? Why would I call him a weakling?

I turned to face him, and this time around, his focus was on me. He looked really annoyed. I swallowed my spit and comforted the shallow feeling in my stomach just to feel better.

"I—I," I breathed, trying to focus. I couldn't be weak. "No one called you a weakling here, Alpha Silas. I was only playing the role of a worried wife. My greatest apologies if my words offended you." I didn't spend a second more before I left his presence.

Moving carefully through the bushes, I finally sighted our camp. For the Moon Goddess's sake, I not only implicated myself, I didn't even have my bath. And now I have this rough sensation in my throat, making me feel super frustrated.

Morning soon came, and the journey continued. This time around, I was alone in the carriage, while Alpha Silas...well, I hadn't seen him since last night by the riverside. Probably he was angry, or maybe not.

I sighed, enjoying the fresh air of the earth with no creature to pollute it with stinky, smelly cigarettes. I couldn't count the number of times I slept and woke up due to bumps on the road or the careless riding of the coachman, bumping into one stone or another.

For the rest of the journey, I didn't see Alpha Silas, not even when I peeped through the window, nor did we take any breaks. Whenever I was hungry, the maids would deliver my food to the carriage, and whenever I asked where Alpha Silas was, they'd always keep mute.

At this point, I couldn't help but wonder... I've heard of marriages where, after the wedding, the groom only visits the bride when he wants to consummate the marriage, and after that, he's gone. One part of me felt sad and down, an unexplainable feeling. I didn't want that type of marriage.

A bitter laugh rumbled in my chest. Consummate?... He would discover the mark and push me away eventually. My life wasn't a bed of roses; it was a tunnel of thorns, and I dared not look at the brighter side of it.

It was a long journey before we finally arrived at our destination, and all through, I didn't even catch a glimpse of Alpha Silas whenever I peeped through the window. A part of me felt bad, but I believed it was for the best.

The carriage finally stopped in front of a huge castle. My heart started to beat rapidly in anxiousness; my stomach felt like there was something stirring my undigested food. There were three young ladies standing not too far away, dressed in truly befitting wears.

I was still caught up in my thoughts when the carriage door opened, snapping me back to reality. And then I saw him, his whole outfit changed, neat, and his hair was left to fall on his shoulders.

"Quit staring and grab my hand." His voice wasn't welcoming. I frowned and grabbed his hand while he helped me down carefully. The moment I got down, he slipped his hand away from mine.

Why was he looking so neat when we didn't even stop during the travel, while I was here, close to being stinky, same dress and everything? Where did he even find clothes to change into? I felt anger stir through me.

"The journey was a smooth one, I hope?" The lady who spoke was standing in the middle of the other two. She was dressed in a red dress and a golden-brown robe, while her hair was neatly packed to the side. She looked very young, but her voice showed that she was older than Alpha Silas himself.

Alpha Silas said nothing as the woman's gaze traveled to me, her nose squinting slightly as my inner organs fell in embarrassment. Heaven would so punish you, Alpha Silas.

Like the woman noticed how embarrassed I was, she smiled and acted fine. "I knew she was going to be beautiful. My choice is never wrong or faulty. Right, Silas?"

Silas, uhn? She must be his mother to have called him without formalities.

"I'm Lady Arella, Silas's mate," she smiled as she approached me and took my hands in hers. I withdrew my hands back, my face laced with confusion. Alpha Silas has a mate? Now that explains why he's been ignoring me. She chuckled. "Just joking, I'm his godmother."

With her head held high, she spoke regally. "Welcome to Amazonite Pack, Princess Novalyn Aysel Moonstone. I like your possessive attitude towards my son."

Possessive attitude? My brows squinted. I'm even more confused now.

"Yes, this is how it starts," the lady next to her said with a broad smile. My frown deepened, but I managed to conceal it and put on an innocent smile. I glanced at Silas, who just stood there like a rock of ages, looking probably impatient.

"Silas, why are you being so distant from your wife?" Lady Arella asked with a smile.

A familiar scent hit my nose, making me almost dizzy. I felt a hand slide through my waist. "Mine." The voice whispered so close to my ear. I shivered slightly, and it disappeared. Panic gnawed at me; I didn't realize when I started panting.

"What's wrong?" Alpha Silas asked as he wrapped his right hand around my waist. His touch wasn't helping, and at that point, I wanted to snap at him to let go of me until I realized where I was.

"Nothing," I replied.

Arella smiled in content.

"I'm Asterlayna, Beta Eros's mate," the lady standing next to Lady Arella beamed as she introduced herself.

Were people in Amazonite Pack this merry?

"Let's leave the two alone," Lady Arella announced, turning away. With her back facing us, she spoke, "Silas, take your mate to your room and give me a grandchild."

My head banged... Isn't that supposed to be personal?
