Alex made many mechanical tails as armor to defend against the explosions. They got destroyed, but they did their job well. His tough Jinchuriki Mode body can handle the remaining power of that explosion without getting damaged.
Mard Geer looks pissed when Alex unwraps his tails and floats above him, looking down on him with a smirk. The human he greatly looked down at has turned the table this quickly.
"Bansho Ten'in!"
Suddenly, Mard Geer's body is pulled by an invisible force toward Alex. He can't resist it and his neck is grabbed by Alex who squeezes it strongly.
"I would play more with you like how I played with your subordinates if the situation is good. But someone annoying suddenly shows up to ruin the fun. So let's end this here."
Mard Geer tries to break himself free by stabbing his claws at Alex's arm, but his hands, legs, and wings are caught by Alex's tails, so he can only wriggle around. He really can't shake Alex's hold and worse, his energy is drained rapidly by Alex.
Mard Geer gets weakened very quickly, but Alex keeps him alive. If Mard Geer died, then the Cube might fall because it's under Mard Geer's control. So Alex only weakens him because his friends are still inside the Cube.
He wanted to enjoy his fight with Mard Geer, but someone unwanted suddenly came to ruin his fun. His battle with Mard Geer becomes very not exciting because of this and it really annoys him.
Alex holds Mard Geer with his tails and looks down to his left. There's nothing on the Cube's roof because he looks past it. He looks deep into the Cube. He can't see that person, but he can sense that person's energy very clearly even from above the Cube.
Alex creates a small Tailed Beast Bomb on his right hand. Then he squeezes and detonates it, creating a very powerful beam that pierces through the Cube's very hard walls.
The person that Alex attacks actually dodges the beam that pierces the Cube all the way to the bottom. Alex has expected this, so he isn't surprised. That attack was more of a warning to say that he knows the man is there.
So Alex quickly charges toward that man's location, destroying the Cube's floors while still holding the weakened Mard Geer on his back with his tails.
Alex moves very quickly and arrives in a very short time. He faces the intruder which is none other than Zeref, one of his 2 main enemies along with Acnologia.
"You find me very quickly." Zeref looks at Alex calmly.
"As if I wouldn't sense your irritating magic power."
Zeref looks at the weakened Mard Geer before looking back at Alex.
"He should be holding a book. Where is it?"
"Maybe I destroyed it with my attack? I'm not sure."
"That is not possible."
Zeref knows that the book is still intact because Natsu is still alive. But he doesn't know where it is. He can sense his Books, but he doesn't sense the END Book at all.
"You came all the way here for a book? Must be very important then. Important enough for you to risk fighting me."
Alex suddenly jumps and reaches Zeref's position in an instant. He sends a very fast punch that Zeref can't dodge now. It hits Zeref's chest and sends him crashing onto the Cube's walls in a similar fashion as when Mard Geer was punched by Alex.
"Fighting these damn demons was annoying enough and your presence here just makes the situation worse. Now the invitation for Acnologia to come here is complete, thanks to you." Alex says it with a very annoyed tone.
The battles against the demons have caused chaos and disturbance in the magic power around this area. Curse against Magic, the clashes of those 2 powers have stirred up the atmosphere.
Acnologia loves war and chaos. So the chaos caused by those battles could entice him already and now Zeref's presence here has increased the chance.
Zeref's magic power that's mixed with Anhkseram's Curse of Immortality makes the magic power in the surrounding even more chaotic just by him being there.
Acnologia can recognize Zeref's magic power even from the other end of the world. Once he senses chaos and Zeref's magic power in the same place, he'll think that something interesting is happening, so he'll go to check it.
Well, that's just Alex's assumption, but he thinks the possibility of that being true is high because all the times Acnologia appeared in the series were when there was war and Zeref.
Fairy Tail vs Grimoire Heart, Fairy Tail vs Tartaros, Ishgar vs Alvarez. Zeref presented in all those 3 big scale battles. There were many other big scale battles, yet Acnologia didn't show up in those events.
The only difference is Zeref's presence, that's why Alex made that assumption. Zeref is Acnologia's magnet. After all, he is the only person Acnologia can't kill in 400 years.
Zeref shows why Acnologia still can't kill him immediately by healing the damage he gets from Alex's attack. His self-healing is very quick when he puts his mind into it.
"While you're here, let me say something else to you." Alex walks toward Zeref who stands up while healing his injuries.
As he walks, Alex absorbs Mard Geer's remaining energy. The demons' Curse Power's negativity really can't affect him thanks to the Tailed Beasts' filters, so he can convert their Curse Power into pure Magic Power.
After draining all of Mard Geer's Curse Power, he stabs Mard Geer's body with his tails in vital points and even breaks Mard Geer's neck, immediately killing the Underworld King that threatened the whole Ishgar for years.
When Mard Geer dies, the Cube also loses its power. Plutogrim, the living Cube also dies because it's made by Mard Geer's Alegria Curse. With Mard Geer's death, the Cube dies and can't float again, so it falls.
No one other than Alex and Zeref is ready for the fall because they don't know about Mard Geer's death. They are shocked by the sudden fall, but they quickly prepare for the impact.
Alex isn't worried his friends won't be able to withstand the impact. They are not that weak and he is right. The Mages prepare themselves for the fall impact very quickly and they use their magic to reduce the effect or just rely on their strong physiques.
Mira and Lisanna transform to fly, Elfman transforms into a weretiger, Erza uses flying armor while holding the defeated Minerva, Wendy makes a wind cushion with Carla, Laxus just transforms into lightning, Lily flies, Lucy uses Horologium with Happy, Rogue transforms into shadow, Ultear makes a water trampoline, Gray makes an ice spring, while Natsu, Gajeel, and Sting just rely on their legs.
The fall impact makes the remaining few demons fall on their faces. Some of the Mages also can't protect themselves from the fall perfectly, but they aren't badly injured. At most they get some scratches because of the fall.
All of them are wondering what causes the Cube to fall so suddenly. But some who haven't finished their jobs, quickly move to kill the remaining demons that received some impacts from the fall that breaks the walls, floors, and ceilings.
Gray also quickly moves to kill the remaining Demon Gates. Mira left 5 of them for him to kill so his Ice Devil Slayer Magic can get stronger and he has just started killing them when the Cube suddenly falls.
So he quickly finishes his job before something worse happens. They need to leave this place quickly while they are still in one piece. This place might crumble soon, so they can't stay here or they'll be buried.
Everyone quickly finishes their jobs and tries to get out of the Cube by following the paths they took before. So all of them go to the same place, the top of the Cube where they came from.
This way, they can also gather and check on the others. They also have agreed to return from the way they entered, so everyone will go there.
But when they move toward the exit, there are many demons that try to attack them. There are actually still a lot of demons left, demons that weren't included in the groups that attacked them and were scattered all over the Cube.
Fortunately, these demons are weak, so they can kill them while moving although these demons do disturb their ways to the exit.
Soon, all of them come out of the Cube after passing through the remaining demons. Only Alex left in the Cube, but they are not worried about him.
They know Alex will be fine, but that thought shatters not long after they get out of the Cube. When they are resting and waiting for Alex to finish, they suddenly sense something terrifying is coming.
They look far to the horizon, but see nothing for a while. Then after some time, they spot a shadow flying toward them. It keeps getting bigger until they finally see what it is. It's something they've seen before, a Black Dragon, Acnologia.
