Chapter 671 - Chapter 671 Blank

[The traveler missing something will come knocking, a red-eyed crow caws on his left shoulder.]

[Do not go out, you must wait for his arrival.]

[Do not be discourteous, for Death favors the rude.]

[Do not refuse to answer, for the Angel needs to know her name.]

[You cannot agree nor refuse, the crow is watching your treasure.]

This prophecy was Neon's divination for his father.

Therefore, throughout this month, Light hadn't dared to go out, staying by his daughter's side at all times until Law's visit.

If not for the information revealed by the prophetic poem making him hesitant to act, he would have spared no effort to eliminate any enemy coveting Neon.

Law sat on the sofa, finished reading the five stanzas written on the paper, looked up at Neon with her beautiful blue hair and exquisite features, and said self-deprecatingly, "Do I look like a crow?"

Light kept a straight face, not cracking a smile. The five bodyguards stood silently behind the sofa.

"Pfft."

Neon, however, suddenly covered her mouth and laughed. She never read the contents of her own prophecies, but she knew Law's self-mockery must stem from the prophetic poem.

She had expected a super villain, but instead, it was a man with a handsome face, just a bit older.

From Neon's perspective, any man with a beard was considered old.

A crow was actually an element often appearing in prophecies foretelling misfortune, usually warning of impending disaster. In certain specific times and contexts, it symbolized the bringer of calamity.

Light looked at Law, his face expressionless, but his heart was filled with anxiety.

Although Law had stated he meant no harm upon entering, the initiative was firmly in the other party's hands.

This was the factor that made him most uncomfortable, and that initiative represented their lives and safety.

They had no means to resist.

This was the information Dalzollene had given him.

In other words, the security force he considered above standard was like a paper tiger before this man, completely vulnerable.

Light didn't think his bodyguards were weak, so the conclusion could only be that the other party was too strong.

Seeing Law remain silent, Light finally couldn't hold back and asked, "What is it you want to confirm? And what will you do after confirming it?"

"From now until September 1st, I want to review all the prophecies Neon writes for her clients. That is what I want to confirm."

Law placed the paper with the prophecy on the table, swiped his hand over it, and the writing instantly vanished.

"Comply obediently, and don't try any tricks. Only then will the things you least want to see not happen. Understood?"

The mustache on Light's lip twitched slightly. He quickly weighed the pros and cons and said in a low voice, "I can cooperate, but I want to know your motive."

"What if I don't tell you?" Law's hand rested on the blank paper as he smiled faintly at Light.

Light's face immediately darkened.

Law didn't spell it out, but his meaning was clear: you have no capital to negotiate.

Even with five capable bodyguards standing behind him, Light felt no sense of security.

As bodyguards, Dalzollene and the others also felt deeply frustrated.

But what could they do? In their world, strength was paramount.

Light fell silent. Law's gaze shifted past him and landed on Neon, who held a trace of hostility in her eyes.

The previous conversation had rekindled Neon's fading fear.

"Can you perform a divination for me?" Law asked, smiling as if he didn't see the hostility in Neon's eyes.

Neon didn't even need to think before she was about to refuse.

"Neon." Light knew his daughter well and, anticipating her refusal, called her name in a stern tone before she could speak, reminding her not to be willful.

Neon immediately turned her head to look at Light, meeting his uncompromising gaze, and froze for a moment.

"Fine, fine!"

After a moment, she didn't throw a tantrum but agreed very reluctantly.

Then, she looked at Law and said grumpily, "Write your name, date of birth, and blood type on a blank piece of paper."

"Will this one do?" Law picked up the paper whose writing had been erased.

Seeing the paper used for her father's divination now blank, Neon was slightly startled. She hadn't seen Law erase the writing.

Although surprised by the disappearance of the writing, she didn't inquire and said, "No, you can't use the same paper for two divinations."

Law nodded and said, "Then give me a new one."

As soon as he finished speaking, a maid quickly brought paper and pen.

Law picked up the pen, hesitated for a moment before writing the name [Lawliet], then added his date of birth and blood type.

After writing, he handed the paper to Neon.

Neon took the paper and looked at it, muttering, "What a mouthful of a name."

Without Light needing to remind them, the bodyguards standing behind the sofa memorized the information on the paper from their vantage point.

Law saw their actions clearly but didn't mind such a minor matter.

After confirming the divination subject's information, Neon picked up her pen.

[Lovely Ghostwriter]

Instantly, Nen surged around Neon's right arm holding the pen. At the same time, her eyes lost focus.

The Nen swirled around her arm, quickly forming a Nen Beast with a gaping mouth and ears like a pair of wings.

The Nen Beast's eyes were tightly shut, its two slender hands pressing down on Neon's hand.

Compared to an angel, its form more closely resembled a small demon. (T/N: Neon's Nen Ability's other name is Angelic Auto Writing.)

Under the 'angel's' control, Neon's hand moved unconsciously, driving the ballpoint pen to write on the paper.

Swish, swish...

Law looked at the paper. Where the ballpoint pen passed, no writing was left. Moreover, judging by the pen tip's trajectory, it was simply scribbling.

This scene was also noticed by the observing Light and others.

"What's happening?" Light's heart skipped a beat, as this was the first time he had seen such a situation.

Neon, however, seemed unaware. Just like during her usual work, she wrote from beginning to end. Only after the 'angel' disappeared did the light return to her dazed eyes.

"Done."

Neon dropped the pen and stretched.

Law took the white paper and examined it. Judging by the pressure Neon used while writing, even if the pen were out of ink, it should have left indentations.

However, this paper bore no trace of any writing.

"It's blank." Law suddenly turned the paper around to show Neon sitting opposite him.

"I don't read my own prophetic poems!" Neon crossed her arms in front of her eyes.

Light looked at the blank paper in Law's hand, his expression uncertain and alarmed.

"You didn't write anything just now," Law said.

Neon was taken aback but didn't lower her arms, snorting, "Don't try to trick me."

"He's not tricking you," Light said.

"Huh?"
