The lights of the Lawlin Museum didn't go out until late at night.
Menchi was the first to leave. Before leaving, she gave Law a resentful look, which he ignored, simply seeing her to the elevator entrance.
Just as the elevator door was about to close, Law saw Menchi about to speak but hesitating. He smiled and said goodbye, cutting off what Menchi wanted to say.
The second group to leave was Uvogin and Nobunaga. Before leaving, Law specifically reminded them to keep a low profile, since this was the city where the Hunter Association was located.
Regarding Law's reminder, Uvogin and Nobunaga brushed it off with laughter. Although they left in the middle of the night, they went straight to a nightclub, clearly planning to party until dawn.
Of course, they had also developed a habit of 'don't provoke me, I won't provoke you'.
As long as no one provoked them, the two wouldn't cause trouble.
The remaining others simply stayed at the Lawlin Museum. Since an entire floor was rented, there were many rooms, more than enough.
After the Lawlin Museum officially opened, Salin and Sabro had been living at the company. Initially, the living area was set up near the office area. Over time, an independent living area was designated.
There were many rooms. Salin took the largest one, containing many replicated versions of her beloved books.
The remaining rooms were similar in size. Buhara, Biscuit, and the others all stayed, each having a room. Law, of course, shared a room with Machi.
Late at night, Biscuit still hadn't slept. Wearing a black facial mask, she sat on the sofa watching a TV series, apparently a very popular idol drama currently, full of love triangles, handsome men, beautiful women, and heartbreaking romances.
Creak.
Law came out of the room wearing boxers, heading to the kitchen to get some boiled water. Passing through the hallway, he went through the living room.
Biscuit turned her head, her gaze lingering on Law's aesthetically pleasing, streamlined muscles. Her first words were, "Finished?"
Hearing this, Law was momentarily stunned but quickly understood the meaning behind Biscuit's words. Several black lines instantly hung on his forehead. Pretending not to understand, he casually said, "Finished with what?"
"Hehe."
Because of the facial mask, Biscuit's laugh was distorted. She raised her hands and clapped a few times.
Law's face darkened slightly, helpless. "You heard the sounds?"
Even with the facial mask, Biscuit forcefully rolled her eyes. "Even the TV sounds couldn't cover it. Watched three episodes before you finished."
'Not only hearing sounds… using your feet to think, you'd know what reunited lovers would do.'
"..."
Law was speechless, only feeling Biscuit's words were too exaggerated. Biscuit must have deliberately gathered Aura in her ears to enhance hearing. Otherwise, how could it be louder than the TV?
"What do you want to drink? I'll get it for you."
Not wanting to dwell on this slightly sensitive topic, Law changed the subject and walked toward the kitchen.
"Monkey wine."
Biscuit's attention shifted to the TV.
Hearing this, Law could only stop, turn, walk to the sofa, take out a pot of monkey wine from Kuro's space, and place it on the table. "It's quite late. Drink less."
"Shoo, shoo."
Biscuit pouted, shooing Law away.
Law slightly shook his head, went to the kitchen to pour a large cup of boiled water, then returned to the living room.
He saw Biscuit had changed her sitting posture, knees bent, arms wrapped around them, making the view under her nightgown vaguely visible.
Law showed no reaction, walked over with the water cup, and sat beside Biscuit.
At that moment, the TV series reached its climax.
The female lead and female antagonist were fiercely fighting. Following the usual trope, the female lead was steadily losing, appearing pitiful and delicate.
Biscuit was angry at her lack of fighting spirit, watching with gritted teeth, continuously waving her small fists, wishing she could jump into the TV to help the female lead defeat the antagonist.
Law silently moved his butt further away, careful not to get involved with the somewhat frenzied Biscuit.
"Useless, so useless! If it were me, I'd slap her right away!"
This episode ended with the female lead being bullied by the antagonist, making Biscuit so angry her teeth itched. She picked up the monkey wine and took a large gulp.
"If the female lead slapped the antagonist down, where would the opportunities for male lead one and male lead two be? Wouldn't there be no scenes of the two male characters competing for the female lead's favor then?"
Law pondered the common tropes in idol dramas, then casually retorted.
Biscuit was stunned for a moment, then turned to stare fixedly at Law.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Law asked cautiously.
"I want to watch the next episode," Biscuit said.
"Then watch it. No need to specifically tell me."
Hearing this, Biscuit pointed at the TV.
Law couldn't help but look. The TV was playing another late-night instant-noodle drama.
"I want to see the next episode within five minutes," Biscuit said with a smile.
"Do you think I'm Doraemon?"
Law raised an eyebrow, picked up his water cup, and headed toward the room.
"Fine, go ahead and try walking in there!" Biscuit watched Law's back, her tone quite serious.
"..."
Law could only stop, turn to look at Biscuit, and said with a bitter smile, "Sis, don't mess around. It's quite late now… you should go to sleep."
The response was Biscuit's polite smile.
'She's serious!'
Law thought Biscuit was probably angered by that episode's ending, and then he had to be mouthy and retort.
Thinking this, Law felt quite helpless. Facing Biscuit's serious determination, he could only raise both hands in surrender.
Law glanced toward the room direction, then looked at Biscuit and asked, "Do you have your phone?"
Biscuit's eyes lit up. She reached behind her and took out a phone.
Law walked over, sat down again, placed the water cup on the table, then took Biscuit's phone, entered a twenty-digit number, and sent a series of letters via message.
That was his method to contact Ickshonpe via message.
Soon, the phone vibrated.
Law answered. Under Biscuit's expectant gaze, he asked Ickshonpe for help to switch the currently airing TV series.
"Law, I never thought you liked idol dramas so much."
Ickshonpe's voice came from the other end, carrying a strange tone.
Law lacked the energy to explain, essentially accepting it, then said, "In a while, there might be another thing I need your help with."
"No problem. As long as you have time, you have to play games with me for a day… no, three days!" Ickshonpe said.
"Alright."
Law agreed.
"Give me five minutes."
Ickshonpe said this, then hung up.
Law returned the phone to Biscuit. "You heard, five minutes."
Biscuit happily put away her phone, giving Law an appreciative look, then raised her fair, radish-like arm and forcefully patted Law several times, expressing appreciation through action.
Then, as if remembering something, she asked, "That travelogue of yours, the main content is about the Dark Continent, right?"
Tonight, everyone chatted about the yet-unpublished travelogue. In the end, Law never revealed the book was related to the Dark Continent.
"Of course."
Law took a sip of water.
"You also know over two hundred years ago, the V5 established a treaty against invading the Dark Continent. The Dark Continent is a taboo topic. In this environment, your book basically won't pass censorship," Biscuit said.
"I have a way."
Law put down the water cup, revealing a faint smile.
