The setting sunlight pierced through the gently, waving branches, creating subtly nuanced transitions of color and tone.
Two young man could be seen walking toward an isolated location of the forest.
One, a red-hair with a silver otsuchi tied to his back. His expression stoic; he gave off the aura of a knight ready to fight anything that would come his way. His gaze alone was strong enough to scare away stage 1 profound beasts.
The other, a pink hair who was fiddling with a wristwatch. Anxiety could be heard from each step he took past the small green grass. He had been with the man in a silver hakama for two days, and admitted how weak he is.
Watching Lucien decapitate stage 2 profound beasts with ease gave him some motivation. He could do it, but when Lucien did, it appeared to be easy staff.
Caressing his right thumb on the front of the watch which had the letter 'Z', his thoughts drifted to the day he last saw his brother.
"So far, this is the greatest of my creations. I made it with you in my heart. Take care of my baby you dumb-ass, I don't want to regret doing this. Answer me, you piece of shit, do you want me to slap you?!"
His brother was only 14 then; however, his mouth was already corrupted by the world to a point he wouldn't spend an hour without cursing.
A grisly smile forms on Tento's face.
'I hope you're making trouble there... well, as long as you're safe, I'm fine with that.'
Bracing himself, he places the watch on his left wrist and a golden glow emitted from it, prompting the young man release an 'O.' However, the moment the light vanished, the watch strengthens it's grip on him to buttock-clenching levels.
"Ahhh!"
A loud scream escaped his mouth, forcing him to halt his movements. Falling to the ground with a thud, he attempts to remove the watch, but the grip increased more.
"Brother you fucker!"
He cursed, and the grip loosened instantly.
Perplexed by what happened, Ten looks at the watch with a furious gaze only for him to blink more.
"...what is this?"
On the watch where kanji letters, [Password Received].
Instantly forgetting about the previous events, Tento's eyes dance in awe.
"What does this do?"
The letters on the watch shift.
[I'm your assistant. Your brother designed me to help you fight. I can, recommend a good diet, give you tips on various beasts, estimate a person's strength, sense Rei signals, navigate; most of all, I've various transformations in me to help you fight.]
Even though the letters on the watch were moving, Tento didn't miss a single thing. That being said, the last words pleased him than the rest.
—In his mind, he was already transforming into an extraterrestrial being that could breathe fire from its mouth and fly.
The watch ignorantly gave him a warning:
[At the moment you can use one suit to fight. The others will be unlocked when you get stronger. So, please ask for my guidance to train. I was made with you at heart.]
Ten felt heartsick. His brothers suits were the worst in the world. And, worst of all, he had to train. He initially thought that he would get stronger instantly —who doesn't want easy strength?
Getting up, Tento pats his kimono with a nonaligned visage.
—There are reasons he never used this watch before. First: his brother's creations always attract envy. Secondly: his brother made it —that is more scary than anything.
Jogging to catch up with Lucy, he asks a rhetorical question:
"How am I compared to him?"
Ten expected to read something like, 'he is way out of your league, boy,' or 'I don't want to hate your feelings,' or 'you'll need a thousand years to reach his level.'
However, what he read made his movements halt.

Tento's face paled, cold sweat falling from his face. He knew how ruthless Lucien could be; that enough, made his legs wiggle a bit.
—During the past two days with Lucien, he found Lucy to be an unpredictable man, but noticed a few things about him: clean freak and introverted. Furthermore, by each passing day, Lucy reduces the amount of words he talks like he was possessed when they were with Tsukino.
Bracing himself, Ten runs toward his death, his lips curling in a heteroclite manner —he is too young to die, he has yet to get kissed!
After two minutes, he arrives next to Lucien, but his breathing was unstable, as his chest burned to freaking levels. Collecting himself for a minute, he confronts his fate.
"Lucy-san, I discovered there is a power you use, do you mind telling me about it?"
Lucy's expression didn't change.
"How much do you know about it?"
Ten's inquiring gaze lands on his watch which gave him an answer.
He reads out loud, "The energy has a consciousness that governs it, and is slowly sipping into your body. Some particles might be devouring your blood; it should take about 10 to 15 years to completely lose your blood. Whether this is good or not, I don't know...."
Bam.
Ten walked straight into a tree and stopped talking. Unperturbed, he goes the right way, continuing:
"On a brighter note, the energy works automatically; at some point, you won't have to concrete to bring it up. The thing on my arm says that some of your steps release this energy."
—He doesn't know it's called a watch.
Lucien was satisfied with the reply. His efforts are paying off even though the time is big.
Taking a turn over some trees, the two start to walk on dry grass, and Lucien asks.
"What is a profound beast?"
Tento knew this much by head:
"A profound beast is an animal. Stage 1 can't use rei. Stage 2 are mutants, and use rei. Stage 3 have more rei in them, uttering their shape to something unique. Also, they have a profound beast blast, and have a high possibility to have Tama than Stage 2. Stage 4 are kings of the beasts."
Lucy gives a small nudge, "What does the story of the First Human say about profound beasts?"
The story of the First Human is fragmented, and Ten didn't pay mind to it. Likewise, he looks at his watch for assistance.
"When the First Human arrived on Earth there was nothing, and on his way to heaven, life was introduced. Profound beasts are things who came from heaven to fill the barren land."
Lucy raises his hands, picking two baobab fruits, he hands one to Ten.
"The First Human could tame beast, because his soul was strong. After he had children, his soul got weakened; that's why we are here. We need to strengthen our soul; to do so, we need faith in its power —that's the way to feel it.
"Once we feel it, we start to use its power. The more it's used, the stronger the connection becomes."
Not getting a thing, Tento asks a vacuous question:
"We can't have children with this method?"
Destroying the baobab with one hand, Lucien eats the contents, before replying:
"Children are a collection of soul fragments from the parents. With this method, the children will be born strong. After making a child, the soul can always be recovered."
Ten nods, his gaze turning to his watch for further clarification.
[This is new information in my database; only by observing Lucy-san will I be able to help you unlock this power.]
The pink-eyed-teen shrugs. Breaking his baobab on a rock, Ten continues the journey before a loud beep rang on his watch.
He didn't hesitate to read the warning out loud.
"There is a stage 3 profound beast up ahead! It has two Tama with it!"
