Chapter 1 - Chapter1: A wonderful other world

Out of nowhere, I opened my eyes and found myself in a farm field. Suddenly, an old man with a rake pointed at me and spoke in a language unknown to me. Seeing that I didn't respond, he approached, still pointing the rake at me. I raised my hands in surrender and spoke to him in English—the most widely known language in the world. Because of this, the old man seemed to understand, as he didn't reply.

Suddenly, the old man took my hand and led me to a cart. I didn't resist him to show my sincerity. Once I climbed into the cart, the old man guided two oxen and left me at the entrance of a city. Before departing, he handed me a bag of coins. The old man spoke to me, seemingly wishing me luck in the city; not wanting to be rude, I bowed repeatedly and said "thank you" over and over. Though the old man didn't understand me, he seemed pleased with my attitude—he patted my head and left. For the last time, I bowed toward the cart and walked forward toward what awaited me.

As I wandered through the city, for some reason I felt strange; it was as if I had seen this place before. Without much delay, I sat by a fountain and began thinking about what I could do.

—The "Villain from Another World" system activates. Do you wish to link with the system?

Seeing the system's screen appear before me, I became excited—but the word "villain" sounded problematic.

—System, what does "villain" have to do with...?

—The system will respond to the host only when the host accepts the system. Do you wish to link with the system?

To be honest, I have no other choice. It's not that I don't know about systems, but I sense this will be harder now that I've accepted the system.

—System, I accept linking.

—The system has successfully linked. The host's current world has been detected: Konosuba. The system is assigning missions to the host.

Konosuba… That's why this city feels so familiar.

—The system detects that the host does not know the local language. Installing translation system.

Suddenly, I felt slightly odd, but I didn't panic; I waited until everything settled. I began understanding what people around me were saying—even though I still felt a bit confused; it must be because everything they said was being translated by the system.

—The system grants a talent upon first activation. Does the host accept the talent?

—System, I accept the talent.

—The system successfully implements the talent. Talent acquired: "Magic Item Crafter."

In the blink of an eye, I understood how to create magic items and felt capable of doing anything.

—The system detects that the plot has not yet begun. Does the host wish to receive long-term missions?

—System, give me the long-term missions.

—The system has activated the following missions:

Mission 1: Steal the heroine. As a villain, it is your duty; obtain one of the protagonist's heroines and make her your wife. (Random heroine).

Mission 2: Become stronger and humiliate the protagonist. As a system user, it is your duty to grow stronger and surpass any protagonist. Humiliate the protagonist.

Mission 3: Steal the protagonist's love nest. As a villain, you cannot prevent the protagonist's romance, so steal his love nest and make it yours.

Wow, these missions are quite generous for a villain. Well, I'm not complaining much, but it doesn't really match the typical yellow-haired type.

—The system informs you that, having already ruined the plot, you are sufficiently evil to be considered a major villain across the entire world.

True enough—no one likes someone ruining their favorite novel. Well, I won't complain; I don't want the system handing me missions that break my moral compass.

—The system will enter cooling mode. For any information, consult your mobile phone.

Hey, wait. Out of nowhere, a mobile phone appeared before me—it looked exactly like my previous phone, in fact, it *is* my phone. Incredible—the system interface is on the cellphone. On the search bar, there are questions; apparently, it's trying to communicate through the search monitor.

Putting the phone away, I sat down to think about how to complete the three missions. Mission 1 is the most complicated; the other two aren't too difficult in the long run. Pulling out my phone, I clicked on the search engine and asked the system when the plot begins.

—The plot begins in four years.

Apparently, I don't need to worry about time, but I doubt I'll be able to approach the heroines. Yunyun and Megumin are only 11 or 12 years old right now, and Darkness is still at her parents' house. But looking at my reflection in the fountain, I realized I'm a child… Damn, I'm a 13-year-old kid. Well, seeing myself in the fountain, I noticed I'm actually more handsome than before. I wasn't ugly before, but I wasn't beautiful either; somehow, this new appearance has erased all flaws on my face and given me greater beauty. Thank goodness I'm not overly handsome—I don't want someone imagining me dressed as a woman.

Returning to the main point, although I'm old enough to interact with the heroines, in a way I'm not interested in Darkness. Megumin is the only one who catches my attention—well, actually, it's Yunyun. But knowing Megumin's attitude toward Yunyun around strangers, she'd surely never let me get close to her. Not to mention, the Crimson Demon Village is far from the Novice City. And Eris… I'm not even sure she'd let me touch her, plus I don't know if she's even in town.

Think: a beautiful woman willing to do whatever you say without refusal. Wait—last heroine is Wiz. Hold on—Vanir wouldn't let me… Or is it true? The main plot of Konosuba hasn't started yet, so Vanir isn't in town.

Alright, it's decided: I'll steal Wiz and make her my wife. Some might think I should sleep with Wiz, but don't forget—Wiz is a very powerful mage; I must be careful with my words. I don't want to turn into an ice statue.

I could have chosen Darkness and made her my personal mistress, but in truth, she's a girl who lost her mother and began suffering mental issues. Only a sick person would take advantage of a girl with such problems. As for Wiz, she doesn't count. Besides, due to the barrier, the Demon King can't be defeated—so I'm just doing justice for the fallen.
