Chapter 337 - 337: Talent and Hard Work

Squelch!!!

Seeing Umbridge's head crushed into fragments, Kasenhis even felt that the wound at the back of his head didn't hurt quite as much anymore…

But "not as much" didn't mean painless. He could only pull out another healing potion and down it in one gulp.

"Fuu~~ Much better." Kasenhis let out a breath. An Ender field instantly spread outward from him in all directions.

It quickly located the shattered corpses that had fallen from the sky and teleported them all onto the carriage in one sweep.

After that, he did nothing, simply sitting atop the bodies and quietly waiting for the carriage to reach its destination.

He very much wanted to see what kind of explanation that old fox Fudge would give him.

...

Meanwhile, in the Ministry of Magic's reception hall,

Dumbledore and Snape stood there staring at each other, neither quite sure what to say.

"So you never considered that their method might be an ambush midway, rather than luring Kasenhis here…" Snape said dryly.

"A midway ambush is such an outdated tactic. Ever since the last time Grindelwald was captured and an entire thestral fleet was wiped out, it hasn't appeared for years… Who would've thought they'd still dare pull something this sloppy… Besides, you didn't think of it either," Dumbledore said helplessly.

"Enough talk. We should first figure out whether Professor Kasenhis can return in one piece. Based on the thestral traces left on Hogwarts' magical barrier, this carriage convoy was privately hired by Umbridge… The Ministry doesn't even know what route they took. After all, the sky is so vast…" Scrimgeour said anxiously from behind them.

"That part doesn't worry us. What worries us is how much trouble Kasenhis will cause after he comes back… So I strongly suggest you clear out the reception hall. Trust me, you absolutely won't regret it," Dumbledore said ..calmly.

"What do you mean? I admit Professor Kasenhis is very strong, and Umbridge is quite useless, but you can't seriously think Umbridge wouldn't bring backup, right?" As Scrimgeour spoke, Tonks suddenly came jogging over.

"We've confirmed it. Umbridge did not hire any thestral carriage teams within England."

Scrimgeour murmured in confusion, "What does that mean…"

Dumbledore spoke quickly, "It means that aside from Hogwarts, the Ministry, and registered thestral fleets, the only ones who possess this dangerous magical creature are the ancient pure-blood families. So which pure-blood family has Umbridge gotten involved with this time?"

"Wait… the Dark Lord." Scrimgeour suddenly thought of a terrifying possibility.

"What?" Dumbledore looked at him, then immediately understood. "Oh, you mean from yesterday, when Kasenhis killed the Gedeir family at their manor, to this morning's Daily Prophet report, it was all to ensure Umbridge would put those so-called magical cuffs on Kasenhis. Then Tom could dispatch Death Eaters to kill him in midair."

"And very possibly a weakened Kasenhis facing more than a dozen elite Death Eaters. The Dark Lord has already rescued a group of diehards from Azkaban. Although some died on the island, the remaining ones are still far better than the trash who stayed outside back then!" Snape shot to his feet from the bench.

"I need to perform a divination. Can the Hall of Prophecy in the Department of Mysteries be used?" Dumbledore asked.

"Those blasted crystal balls only show whatever they feel like showing. We can't ask them anything," Scrimgeour said helplessly.

"Then wouldn't that mean he's doomed?" Tonks, who had been listening to the entire breakdown, said with her face deathly pale.

Crackle!

A terrifying thunderstorm suddenly erupted across the ceiling of the reception hall.

Seeing this, Scrimgeour quickly drew his wand. "That means a thestral carriage is about to arrive. Tonks, go back to the Auror Office and have them split into two teams. One comes here, the other goes to the Minister's office and secures Fudge. You go find Barty Crouch and report everything!"

"Since the Minister's trusted subordinate has already colluded with the Death Eaters, we have every reason to believe he may also have fallen into their grasp! Today may well be the day things change!"

Tonks nodded and sprinted toward the Auror Office.

Dumbledore also slowly drew the Elder Wand from his robes.

"I can already see them." He cast a layer of Protego over everyone in the hall.

Soon, the thestral carriage grew rapidly from a tiny dot on the horizon, roaring as it charged into the reception hall.

But contrary to everyone's expectations of Kasenhis's corpse being thrown from the carriage, what was tossed out was Umbridge's headless body.

And Kasenhis, who was supposed to be half-dead, was instead sitting steadily atop a small mountain of corpses, calmly wiping his monocle with the corner of his robe.

Seeing this scene, both Dumbledore and Snape slowly let out a breath.

The latter even showed a relieved smile as he walked over, casually flicking his wand to clean the blood from Kasenhis's monocle.

"Thanks." Kasenhis smiled back at Snape.

Then he noticed Scrimgeour, who awkwardly put his wand away, staring dumbfounded at the pile of bodies behind him.

"…What exactly happened here?"

"You can see the situation with your own eyes. Right now, I need to know where Fudge is!" Kasenhis took a deep breath, and there was no trace of humor left in his eyes.

"He should already be under Auror control. Want to go take a look?" Scrimgeour patted Kasenhis on the back and carefully helped remove the mechanical arm suppressor from him.

"Oh, thanks. I'd almost forgotten about that thing without you." Kasenhis smiled.

"What I'm more curious about is… without your mechanical arm and with your magic suppressed, how did you kill so many people?" Scrimgeour asked, seeing Kasenhis in a better mood.

"Why… perhaps talent and hard work."
