Chapter 339 - 339: Oh, Filch, Congratulations!

After returning to Hogwarts, Kasenhis took a shower and made it just in time for lunch.

Although those two precious specimens, Fudge and Umbridge, had both been dealt with by him. They still managed to leave him a bit of trouble.

For example, at this very moment, the little wizards at the Slytherin table were looking at him with extreme fear.

What could he say about that?

Well… nothing good to say. Things had already come to this, so they could think whatever they wanted.

After finishing lunch and returning to his office, he found two figures already waiting on the sofa.

"Oh, it's you two. What's up?" Kasenhis looked at the Weasley twins sitting there.

"Professor, good news!" George was the first to jump up, waving the envelope in his hand.

"What good news? What's that?" Kasenhis took the envelope in confusion and quickly figured out what was going on.

In short, it was a Wizengamot summons. Because the Weasley twins had shown not the slightest respect to Ministry official Umbridge during class, they were ordered to be expelled.

"Oh… isn't this exactly what you wanted? As long as Dumbledore pulls a few strings for you, you can make good use of this suspension," Kasenhis said, flicking the envelope.

"But Professor, didn't you say before it was best not to use punishments sent by the Ministry? Because it would make it look like we're afraid of them?" the twins chimed in together.

Kasenhis handed the envelope back to them.

"You don't have to worry about that now… Your father might write to you, but more likely, you can just wait until dinner. By then, the Daily Prophet should have an urgent edition."

Sure enough, by dinnertime, flocks of owls once again flew in through the windows, delivering the day's urgent edition of the Daily Prophet.

Kasenhis picked up a newspaper and glanced through it.

First: Fudge had stepped down as Minister of Magic and, due to overwhelming grief, had unfortunately passed away.

Second: The Gedeir family of three had been confirmed as Death Eaters. Kasenhis's elimination of their entire household was fully justified as righteous cleansing, and other young wizards were told not to be afraid.

Third: Barty Crouch had officially become the new Minister of Magic and had declared war on Voldemort and all Death Eaters.

While Kasenhis was reading the paper, the Auror Office of the Ministry had already fully mobilized, sweeping across magical Britain. Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley, wizarding villages, and any location showing high magical activity…

Including various pure-blood estates.

The rest was mostly Ministry personnel reshuffling. Percy Weasley, who had originally been away on assignment, returned to find his immediate superior dead.

He was also reassigned to a meaningless post on the spot and felt like the sky had collapsed.

"Oh, so did that so-called Director of Moral Education disappear too?" Kasenhis had only read half the paper, so he asked Snape, who was reading the other half beside him.

"The Director of Moral Education has been merged with the Hogwarts caretaker. It is now Filch's responsibility," Snape said concisely.

"Oh, Filch, congratulations!" Kasenhis raised his glass toward Filch, who was sitting not far away.

"It's just a title. I don't even have an office," Filch said modestly.

"It's not quite like that. Filch, now that you've become the Director of Moral Education, it's about time your office was expanded. What do you think?" Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Uh… is that really okay?" Filch asked in surprise.

"Perhaps we can leave this responsibility to Professor Kasenhis," Dumbledore said, calling him out by name.

"No problem. Let's do it tomorrow. I happen to have no classes!" Kasenhis readily took it on.

"Anything else? For example, what does the paper say about that Umbridge?" he continued.

"Hmm… aside from the Ministry dismissing her in the personnel changes, there's nothing else," Snape said naturally after flipping the paper over.

"Then there's no problem. The best news is that her name isn't there at all." Kasenhis's eyes slowly curved into a thin crescent.

The next day, Kasenhis climbed out of bed and glanced at his schedule…

Mm…

Expand Filch's office.

Good. Very energetic.

After washing up, he simply ate a quick breakfast, then went to Filch's office together with him.

Filch's office wasn't very large. A huge rack filled with confiscated student contraband blocked more than half of the already limited light.

"Is there anything in this office that needs to be kept?" Kasenhis asked after giving the place a quick survey.

"My desk, my bed, and the students' confiscated items. Oh, and my collection of restraints," Filch said.

"…Restraints? Why do you even have something like that?" Kasenhis asked in surprise.

"They were used to punish students in the past. But ever since Professor Dumbledore became headmaster, this set was abolished." Filch looked at the well-polished restraints with some regret.

"Oh… alright." Kasenhis's mouth twitched helplessly. In any case, there was no way this set of restraints would ever see use again, so he might as well let Filch keep it as a memento.

Though admittedly… not the healthiest kind of memento.

With that thought, he directly used his ring to transfer Filch's desk, bed, and the contraband from the shelves into his own office, then packed the restraints into a box and set it outside the door.

After clearing those items out, the office did look a bit brighter.

Only a bit, though. The window was honestly too small.

"Should we enlarge the window?" Filch asked.

"Let's just expand the whole office. That way your bed won't have to squeeze next to your desk," Kasenhis said. He reached out and directly broke through into the empty classroom next door, then used stone bricks to partition two small side rooms, one as a bedroom and the other as a washroom.

The remaining space was thoroughly leveled with MC flames before he began the full renovation.

First, the windows were enlarged to improve ventilation. Then the stone floor was replaced with wooden planks to give the room a warmer feel.

Various tapestries and the banners of the four Houses along with Hogwarts were added to the stone walls, making the place look far more comfortable.
