Chapter 342 - 342: Monocle x3

Under the supervision of Kasenhis and George, Fred carefully followed the steps and made his own staff as well, then transfigured his own Arcane Worktable.

"Exactly like that! There's no doubt—you two have talent!" Kasenhis said, patting them both on the shoulders. "Next, we won't waste any more time. Let's get straight to the point. I'm going to teach you how to build your own Infusion Altar."

"I'll allow you to construct the altar in my office first. Then I'll destroy it. After that, you can go back to your secret base, or your dormitory, and build your own altar there."

The Weasley twins nodded. "No problem, Professor!"

"That's the spirit. First of all, strictly speaking, an Infusion Altar isn't directly built by hand. Just like the Arcane Worktable, it's transfigured using your staff!" Kasenhis said as he casually waved his hand through the air.

Arcane stone blocks, arcane stone bricks, a runic matrix, and arcane pedestals slowly floated into view in front of him. Then Kasenhis casually clenched his fist, crushing them into fragments that dissipated into the air.

"Professor, does that mean we also have to start by crafting the four types of blocks you just showed?" George asked.

"Exactly." Kasenhis nodded. "Use your Arcane Worktables. I'll go find some raw materials for you. Wait here."

After saying that, he walked deeper into the office. At some point in the past, he seemed to have built either a magic crystal farm or a magic crystal duplicator in here—he couldn't quite remember anymore. His memory wasn't great, after all. Very understandable.

Still, finding it wasn't difficult. Not long ago he had crafted a redstone-version storage terminal in the office, which made locating things extremely convenient.

Soon, he pulled out a large pile of magic crystal shards. Of course, he wasn't about to let the Weasley twins start crafting arcane stone blocks right away—there was no mystic essence in their bodies yet, so what exactly were they supposed to craft?

These crystals were meant for them to create their own Arcane Lenses—the upgraded, magnified version of his monocle.

That might sound a little backwards. More accurately speaking, the monocle is actually a miniaturized version of the Arcane Lens.

"Come here. Have you ever wondered what this monocle of mine is for?" Kasenhis beckoned the Weasley twins over and pointed at the monocle on his face.

"Hmm…"

"To look cool?"

Kasenhis helplessly gave each of the twins a light smack on the top of their heads.

But he didn't bother explaining. Once they crafted their own Arcane Lenses and started sensing the elements of the world and absorbing primal aspects, they would understand exactly what the lens was for.

"Alright, let me teach you how to craft something good—this is the beginner version of the monocle I'm wearing." Kasenhis casually pushed one of the Weasleys in front of the worktable. This time it was Fred.

"The Arcane Worktable uses the same crafting method as a normal alchemical worktable. The nine-slot grid—put the items in. First, a glass pane." Kasenhis handed it over.

Fred took it. Even though he didn't ask where it should go, he followed his instinct—if there was only one item, putting it in the center should be right.

Kasenhis watched as Fred placed the glass pane in the very center of the nine-slot grid and nodded.

"You have good instincts."

"Thank you, Professor." Fred burst out laughing.

"Next, two gold ingots. Put them to the left and right of the glass pane," Kasenhis said.

"Got it." Fred followed the instructions.

"Finally, two magic crystal shards. Pick any two—it doesn't matter which," Kasenhis said as he pulled a handful of magic crystal fragments from his pocket.

Fred rummaged through them and picked one red and one blue. The moment he held them, he looked surprised.

"The red one is really hot, and the blue one feels like water that won't spill!"

"Mhm." Kasenhis nodded. "Place them above and below the glass pane."

"Alright." Fred did as instructed. After finishing, he looked back at Kasenhis.

The latter shrugged. "That's it. Done."

"Next step—use the hammer? But there's a glass pane in the middle," Fred couldn't help asking.

"Go ahead and smash it with confidence," Kasenhis said seriously.

"Alright." Fred picked up the hammer and brought it down without hesitation.

Clang!

An Arcane Lens popped right out.

"Pick it up and look at whatever you want with it," Kasenhis said.

"Okay, Professor… Professor… what does MC mean?" The first thing Fred looked at through the Arcane Lens wasn't anything else—it was Kasenhis.

Kasenhis put his hands on his hips helplessly. "Every single one of you asks the same question. I'm just personally talented, alright?"

"Alright, Professor." Fred nodded with a grin, then dragged George over before running around the office by himself, holding the Arcane Lens and looking at everything left and right.

Soon after, George finished crafting his own Arcane Lens as well. By the time he did, Fred had already returned—and clearly had questions.

"I know you've got questions, but hold them for now. Wait until George comes back and you can ask together," Kasenhis said, sitting calmly on the sofa.

"Professor, I have a question that's different from Fred's," George said, holding the Arcane Lens in front of his face.

"What is it?" Kasenhis raised an eyebrow.

"Human… magic… MC—what does that mean?" George asked the exact same question Fred had asked a minute earlier.

"If you've got nothing better to do, go bite a lighter. Hurry up and look around first. Come back once you actually find something worth asking," Kasenhis said, suddenly appearing behind George and lightly kicking him in the backside.

"Okay, Professor! I'll be right back! There are way too many questions in my eyes right now!" George shouted as he ran off into the distance.

A few minutes later, George returned as well.

"Are there things it can't scan?" Kasenhis asked.

The twins looked at each other. "Yeah!"

"Then that's normal. Just like people need to keep learning throughout their lives, the elements scanned by this Arcane Lens also need to be learned through synthesis. Specifically, you can guide the elements out from within your bodies and simply knead two of them together," Kasenhis explained.

"Oh… then, Professor, we have another question."

"This Arcane Lens is so big. We can't possibly carry something this large around every day."

"It looks a little…"

"Dumb."

Kasenhis raised an eyebrow. That question… was actually quite important.

He waved his hand and pulled the Arcane Lenses out of the twins' hands through the air, instantly shrinking them down to the size of monocles.

"Like me—just wear it on your eye," Kasenhis said with a smile.
