Reflected in those crystalline tears was Clay diligently helping Kasenhis compile teaching materials, while Kasenhis lounged comfortably on the sofa with one leg crossed over the other, drinking tea as he described the teaching outline in his mind.
After all, his original idea had been to compile books containing his knowledge, and those books needed to have clear connections between them, progressing step by step.
Honestly, doing that was far more difficult than integrating all those mods into one modpack.
And back when Ron and Neville had finished organising those papers for him, he had not originally intended to do that much. For example, the Book of Minecraft had never once appeared in his plan.
At the time, he had genuinely just been in excellent form.
Then, because of the Book of Minecraft and the sudden arrival of the new timetable, everything had been delayed until now.
Fortunately, Merlin was still fair. While taking away his time, he had also given him a new high-quality workhorse.
No, wait. A high-quality student!
"Speaking of which, Clay, you should change that habit of blurting out unnecessary things in the future. Think about it. At first, I had no intention whatsoever of asking you to help me with any work, but you just had to bring it up yourself."
"See what happened now? In the future, if other people don't mention such things, you shouldn't either. That way, you just benefit without losing anything."
Kasenhis spoke while drinking his tea.
"But Professor, wouldn't that mean I'm treating you like an idiot? If I don't do anything for you, why should you teach me knowledge outside the scope of your duties?" Clay said without stopping his pen for even a moment.
"It's no trouble. Why wouldn't I teach you?" Kasenhis raised an eyebrow.
"Professor, that's because you're you. You're a good person. But you can't expect everyone else to be like you and treat us well without asking for anything in return," Clay explained.
"Perhaps... I'm just trying to act virtuous after getting the advantage. Although this time I shamelessly made you work for me, in the future, it's always better to do fewer thankless jobs like this," Kasenhis said frankly.
"Professor, I don't think this is a thankless job," Clay shook his head.
"Alright. As long as you're happy."
Kasenhis felt guilty for about five seconds before returning to his usual exploitative self. He crossed his legs and drank tea until Hogwarts was almost at curfew, only then forcefully pulling Clay out of his seat.
"Alright, Clay, time to go back and sleep. Trust me, you do not want to be caught by Grindelwald. You never know what strange magical experiments he'll make you young wizards cooperate with."
Kasenhis tugged Clay out of his seat like he was pulling up a radish, then teleported to the office door while trying to scare him.
Clay, who had still been struggling slightly, immediately relaxed after hearing that.
"Go back and sleep early. Young people who don't sleep enough won't grow tall."
After placing Clay outside the door, Kasenhis gave one final reminder before closing it.
Clay's eyes, however, darted around.
It was fine. Vivian liked short boys anyway.
Of course, if she stopped liking that in the future...
He could go to Madam Pomfrey and get some Skele-Gro.
Perfect!
And now...
Night-wandering plan, activate!
He just wondered when Professor Grindelwald would catch him...
Mhm...
He truly was a hunter of exceptionally high calibre!
...
For some reason, the weather had been gloomy and rainy around Hogwarts recently. The inside and outside of the castle had become rather cold, including Kasenhis' office, which could very well be called the coldest place in all of Hogwarts.
After all, the size of his office was plain for everyone to see. An ordinary fireplace could not provide even the slightest useful heating effect.
At first, Kasenhis himself had no reaction to it. With a body capable of uprooting the Eiffel Tower, he naturally had no fear of such laughable low temperatures.
But the young wizards couldn't endure it.
Although none of them had come to complain to him, whenever they attended class or wandered around the office, he could see what hung from their faces...
Snot.
Good heavens, why couldn't they cast warming spells? Or wear more clothes? Or wipe their noses with tissues?
Every time Kasenhis saw the young wizards, this was the realistic thought that first appeared in his mind. Only after that came the realisation that his office was too cold and might easily make the students catch a chill...
It was time to add some insulation.
As for how to make an insulation system?
Were they joking with Hogwarts' most inventive professor?
In the muggle world, a literary giant had once said: originally, there were no roads in the world. As for the rest, there was no need to say it. Everyone knew.
So five days ago, Kasenhis very cleverly used Creative Mode to change the entire floor of his office into grass blocks. When more people walked over them, the grass blocks became grass paths. This allowed Kasenhis to see which routes the young wizards usually took.
Then all Kasenhis needed to do was once again use the power of Creative Mode, combined with the spatial-modifying properties within his Ender Chest, to directly turn all the grass paths into magma blocks, restore the other normal grass blocks back into stone bricks, and finally cover the magma with slabs.
That way, the paths most often used by the young wizards would become warm!
He really was a genius!
"But Professor, if you went to all this trouble, why not just lay magma under the entire office floor? Winter is almost here anyway."
The quartet, who had come over to stroll around and visit, listened to Kasenhis' world-shaking wisdom while voicing their own doubts.
"...Because this way has more aesthetic appeal. Is that not allowed?" Kasenhis said stubbornly.
"Professor, are you sure you didn't read some strange inspirational chicken-soup story when you were little?" Hermione asked teasingly.
She had also read that kind of textbook passage, where a park designer used grass to find the paths visitors naturally preferred before designing the walkways.
She just truly had not expected that, given Professor Kasenhis' age, he had also read that sort of passage when he was young.
So this kind of textbook passage was actually inherited across generations!
Kasenhis awkwardly rubbed his chin.
"When I was little, the orphanage didn't have many books. We only had unwanted magazines people donated to us. I could only read the same magazines I had already read countless times over and over again, so that particular passage left a deep impression on me."
Hermione's teasing expression instantly froze on her face.
"I really deserve to die!"
