Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Lala Satalin Deviluke

( Lala's Point of View — A Few Minutes Earlier )

At that moment, an alien spaceship was rapidly approaching planet Earth while being relentlessly pursued by another vessel from behind.

"Seriously, what a pain… why are they so persistent?!" complained a pink-haired girl while frantically pressing every button she could find on the control panel.

Beside her floated a small robotic companion.

"At this rate, they will catch up to us very soon, Lala-sama," the little robot said nervously.

"I know, Peke! But this ship can't go any faster than this!"

Lala clicked her tongue in frustration.

After going through so much trouble just to escape from planet Deviluke, there was no way she wanted to be captured and dragged back home already.

"This is all Dad's fault…" Lala grumbled while crossing her arms.

At that exact moment—

The pursuing spaceship finally pulled up right beside hers.

"!!"

Seeing that, Lala immediately ran toward the back of the ship and grabbed a strange-looking device.

It was small, round, colorful, and compact enough to fit in one hand.

"What are you planning to do, Lala-sama?" Peke asked worriedly.

Lala smiled proudly.

"Even though I haven't tested it yet, I'm sure it'll work perfectly!"

She puffed out her chest confidently.

"After all, I'm the one who invented it!"

Then, without hesitation, she pressed a tiny button on the device.

Instantly, the object began glowing with a brilliant white light.

And a few moments later—

Lala disappeared completely.

Unfortunately—

In her rush, she accidentally left both Peke and all of her clothes behind inside the ship.

Several seconds later, the enemy forces invaded the spacecraft—

Only to find it completely empty.

...

( Present Time )

Warm steam filled the bathroom.

Lala now stood inside an unfamiliar room while a black-haired boy lay unconscious on the floor nearby.

"Hm… strange," Lala muttered curiously while tilting her head. "I teleported successfully, but my clothes didn't come with me. I wonder why?"

She placed a finger against her chin thoughtfully.

The steam from the hot water slowly began fading, allowing her to look more clearly at the unconscious boy.

Lala carefully approached him before crouching beside him.

"I wonder if he's okay…"

She stared at his face for a few seconds.

"He's the first human I've ever seen. Maybe I scared him too much…"

Then she nodded to herself.

"Right! I should probably give him first aid!"

"Peke," she called instinctively.

Silence.

"...Peke?"

No response came.

"?"

Lala blinked before suddenly turning around.

"AH!"

Only now did she finally realize her mistake.

"I left him back on the ship!"

At almost the same moment—

Kaito slowly began regaining consciousness.

"Ugh…"

He lifted himself slightly off the floor while still looking dizzy and disoriented.

Lala immediately noticed and quickly turned toward him.

"Sorry for suddenly invading your house like this," she said apologetically while walking closer to him. "I was in a bit of an emergency situation."

Kaito slowly looked up at her.

And then—

He remembered everything.

The teleportation.

The naked alien girl.

The accidental chest grab.

His expression instantly changed.

He immediately tried to stand up in a panic—

But due to the wet bathroom floor—

His foot slipped.

"WOAH—?!"

Seeing that, Lala instinctively reached out to catch him.

Unfortunately—

She slipped too.

The next moment—

She fell directly toward him.

FWUMP.

A very dangerous situation was instantly created.

Lala's chest landed directly against Kaito's face.

A loud noise echoed throughout the bathroom.

( Kaito's Point of View )

'What the hell is happening anymore?!' Kaito screamed internally.

{ Perhaps your lucky moment? } Kaoru said while sounding thoroughly amused.

'This is NOT the time for jokes, Kaoru!'

Trying desperately to escape the situation, Kaito instinctively placed both hands around Lala's waist to push her away.

"Ahhn…"

A soft and sweet voice escaped from Lala's lips.

The moment Kaito heard that—

He instantly let go of her like he had touched fire.

"P-Please don't make sounds like that near my ear," Kaito said while trying to remain calm. "You're making things extremely difficult for me right now."

Lala's cheeks turned slightly pink.

"Sorry… it slipped out without me noticing."

Kaito was only fifteen years old.

Hearing something like that at point-blank range nearly awakened instincts he was trying very hard to suppress.

After taking a deep breath, he spoke again.

"Can you stand up by yourself?"

"Yes."

Lala slowly stood up before sitting down directly in front of him instead.

For several moments—

The two simply stared at each other.

One was an ordinary Earth boy.

The other was an alien princess from the most dangerous planet in the galaxy.

Neither of them fully realized it yet—

But this meeting would completely change both of their lives.

Finally, Kaito broke the silence.

"My name is Kaito. Kazama Kaito."

Even though he already knew who she was, he still asked naturally,

"And yours?"

The pink-haired girl smiled brightly.

"My name is Lala Satalin Deviluke! I come from planet Deviluke!"

As she introduced herself, the black tail behind her swayed happily from side to side.

Kaito nodded slowly.

"I see… so you're really an alien the—"

Before he could finish speaking—

The bathroom door suddenly opened.

"Kaito, you were taking way too long in the bath, and then I heard a loud noise. Are you okay?" Mikan asked worriedly while stepping inside.

And then—

Everything froze.

Kaito's expression stiffened completely.

Lala simply turned her head curiously toward the new girl.

Meanwhile—

Mikan stared silently at the scene in front of her.

The steam in the bathroom had almost completely disappeared by now.

Which meant—

There was absolutely nothing blocking her view anymore.

A naked pink-haired girl.

Kaito on the floor.

And an atmosphere that looked unbelievably suspicious.

The silence became so heavy it almost hurt.

Kaito felt cold sweat run down his back.

"M-Mikan…" he said with a trembling voice. "This isn't what it looks like…"

{ Death. }

Kaoru's single-word response echoed mercilessly inside his head.

Mikan smiled gently.

A terrifyingly gentle smile.

"Kaito…"

For some reason—

That smile felt more frightening than any alien invasion.

"I think we need to have a little conversation in the living room."

Kaito immediately understood.

He was doomed.

And somewhere far away in space—

The chaos surrounding the future princess of Deviluke had only just begun.

...

After the bathroom incident finally came to an end, Kaito was now sitting in the living room with Lala beside him.

He had already changed back into his own clothes.

Meanwhile, since Lala obviously had nothing to wear, she was currently dressed in a set of oversized clothes Kaito had hurriedly gone back to his house to retrieve for her.

The sight was honestly a little dangerous.

The sleeves were too long.

The shirt hung loosely over her shoulders.

And despite the size difference—

It somehow made her look even cuter.

At that moment, both Kaito and Lala were kneeling on the carpet while Mikan sat in front of them calmly.

Or rather—

A little too calmly.

"Alright then," Mikan said gently while smiling. "Let's start from the beginning."

Kaito immediately straightened his posture.

For some reason, her gentle smile felt scarier than before.

At that moment, Rito spoke from the entrance of the living room.

"Mikan, I'm gonna go take my bath while you talk with Kaito."

"Yes, go ahead, Rito."

Before leaving, Rito glanced toward Kaito.

Kaito immediately looked back at him with desperate eyes.

"Help me," he whispered.

Rito stared at him silently for a few moments.

Then—

He smiled.

Kaito instantly felt hope rising inside him.

"Good luck, my friend," Rito whispered back.

And then he immediately left the room.

Clearly wanting absolutely nothing to do with the situation.

After all—

What was he even supposed to do here?

Kaito watched him leave with disbelief.

'Traitor.'

{ Truly a wonderful friendship. }

After Rito disappeared upstairs, Mikan looked back at Kaito.

"So," she said calmly, "can you explain who this girl is?"

"She is—"

"My name is Lala Satalin Deviluke!" Lala introduced herself cheerfully while interrupting Kaito. "Nice to meet you!"

Mikan blinked once before smiling politely.

"It's nice to meet you too, Lala-san. My name is Mikan."

Then her expression softened slightly.

"So, if you don't mind me asking… how exactly did you end up inside our bathroom?"

Mikan folded her hands neatly on her lap.

"I know Kaito well enough to know he wouldn't suddenly bring a random girl into our bathroom."

'So she wasn't actually angry at me…' Kaito thought internally.

"I was running away," Lala answered honestly.

"Running away?" Mikan tilted her head slightly.

"Yes! I was escaping from my planet while being chased, and because of several events, I ended up appearing here!"

Kaito stared at her.

'She explains that way too naturally.'

{ I think that's just part of her personality. }

'Yeah… probably.'

Mikan nodded slowly.

"I understand the 'running away' and 'being chased' parts… but why did you mention your planet?"

"Oh!"

Lala suddenly stood up energetically.

Then—

A black tail appeared behind her.

"Because I'm an alien!"

"Ah!"

Mikan looked genuinely surprised for a brief moment.

But only for a brief moment.

She recovered almost instantly.

Kaito, realizing he was becoming irrelevant in the conversation, quickly decided to speak.

"So… why exactly did you run away from your planet, Lala?"

Lala turned toward him.

"Well… because my father wants me to marry someone he chooses."

Her expression puffed up unhappily.

"But I don't want that kind of marriage! If I get married someday, I want it to be with someone I choose, not someone who only benefits my family."

"I see…" Kaito nodded slowly.

Honestly, it felt strange asking questions when he already knew the answers.

"So you're basically a runaway bride?"

"Yes! I guess that's true!" Lala replied brightly.

"I see…" Mikan nodded thoughtfully. "So Lala-san ran away from home and accidentally ended up here."

She smiled softly.

"That's certainly… a very unusual situation."

After that, Mikan and Lala continued chatting surprisingly naturally while Kaito quietly decided to check the reward he had received from completing the mission.

'Status.'

A blue screen immediately appeared in front of him.

And unlike before—

Something new had appeared.

NAME: Kazama Kaito

AGE: 15

HEIGHT: 1.78 meters

Skills: Dynamic Vision Lv. 1

Special Physiques:

None yet

Broken Destinies:

None Yet

Kaito focused on the skill name.

Immediately, another screen appeared.

Dynamic Vision Lv. 1

( Improves the user's thought processing, reaction speed, and perception abilities by up to three times. )

'That's actually pretty good,' Kaito thought honestly.

After reading everything, he closed the status screen.

At that same moment—

Rito finally returned from his bath.

However, just as he was about to enter the living room—

TOK TOK.

A knock echoed from the front door.

'Who could that be at this hour?' Rito wondered.

He immediately walked toward the entrance to check.

Meanwhile, Kaito suddenly frowned slightly.

'I feel like I forgot something important…'

And then—

A robotic voice echoed inside his head.

[ New Chain Mission Received ]

A blue screen automatically appeared before him.

Mission: The Pink-Haired Girl — Part 2

"Ah?!"

Before Kaito could even process what was happening—

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the hallway.

"Guys!" Rito shouted in alarm while running back. "There are weird people outside!"

"What do you mean, Rito?" Mikan asked.

"They're wearing armo—"

Before he could finish—

BOOM!!

A massive explosion suddenly erupted beside them.

Part of the wall was completely blown apart.

Dust and smoke filled the room instantly.

Fortunately, none of the debris flew toward them.

Several seconds later—

A figure slowly emerged from the smoke.

And the moment Lala saw him—

Her eyes widened.

"Zastin!"

A tall and handsome man with white hair and blue eyes stepped forward while wearing elegant silver armor.

His expression remained calm and composed.

"Princess Lala," he spoke with a serene voice, "I, Zastin, as your royal guard and commander, have come to bring you home."

"I refuse!!" Lala immediately declared.

At that moment—

The situation could not possibly become any more chaotic.

Rito stood frozen in the distance with a completely shocked expression.

Mikan remained speechless while staring at the destroyed wall.

And Kaito—

Kaito simply tried very hard to remain calm.

'So THAT'S what I forgot…'

He sighed internally.

'Here comes my next problem.'

Then he looked toward the destroyed wall, the royal guard, and the alien princess sitting beside him.

'I seriously just wanted a peaceful life.'
