Aurelia's advisors finished dressing her up for the day. She quickly made her way into her office and grabbed the documents. Her advisors got to work stamping and signing, leaving her to deal with the unification procedure.
In front of her were written reports of both Grahm and Akshan. Detailing what had transpired and the correspondence of the rulers. 'To think my sister is a queen of Salac. Kind of funny considering she was supposed to be married off just like me.'
She let out a chuckle and read through.
She flipped the page, noticing a familiar handwriting. It belonged to her sister and was barely readable.
Aurelia squinted. "She still can't write properly..." She muttered.
After a solid minute of parsing through the letter, she slid it to the edge of the table. "Ladios, please transcribe what this letter said. I can't read it at all."
The Angel bowed slightly before taking the letter. "It will be done so."
She dragged her palms over her face while letting out a small groan. She loved big sister Lara, out of her siblings; she was the only one who ever put up with her antics.
Aurelia took a deep breath before continuing to read through the letters.
'The delegations should arrive by tomorrow night, and then the day after, we can hold the meeting.' She nodded.
The first time she was to attend a meeting was to secure support as the new ruler of Valar. Back then, weren't it for Cedric, she would have been lost and failed, yet she was a different woman now.
Of course, the looming meeting made her nervous; how could she not be? She was about to unify all of humanity under one glorious banner.
Sure, the leadership of both Salac and Zigurat had submitted to Valar, yet if she were to prove herself a capable queen, the proper unification needed to be settled diplomatically, in the capital.
Ladios approached her table, making her gaze wander up and meet his. He placed the transcribed letter and retreated back to other tasks.
Her fingers wrapped around the letter's edges and brought it close to her eyes.
Her eyes narrowed before slapping the letter down. 'And here I thought she said something important.'
Her entire letter contained mostly the contents of Lara gushing over Scarlet, calling her cute and urging her to let her stay in Salac.
Of course, Aurelia was not about to deny that the Angels were incredibly cute, both in their behavior and appearance, yet they were terrifying warriors, especially the principalities.
Her sister had not seen them fight as Aurelia had.
Yet she could not hold down a small chuckle. The last time she had seen her sister was when she was but a child, it made her excited to be able to meet her again.
Unlike her brother, Ayano, Lara was always pleasant and tolerated Aurelia's antics, as any decent older sister should.
She quickly folded the letter and set it aside. A familial letter had its time, a time that was not intruding on preparations for the unification of all humans.
"We should think of what to name this new kingdom we are creating. I feel Valar alone would feel like blatant conquest and annexation," She spoke to the Angels. While she did understand that sending an army to enforce her will and bring other kingdoms under her wing was clearly an act of hostile takeover, it did not sit well with her that the leaders of said countries would think of her as tyrannical.
She became a lot more ruthless due to Raguel's teachings, but it was not her nature. Thus, she would give their union a new name and perhaps find a new flag to represent them.
Lucious leaned back, rubbing her chin. "I don't think we need to change the name. The humans should be glad to be unified with this kingdom."
Aurelia shook her head. Lucious had a point about the fact that they would be joining Valar. It was merely Aurelia's own nature that made her uneasy about making such a decision.
Rayn raised his hand. "I agree with my dearest. Lady Aurelia, you are in a very precarious political position, despite your power, you need to prove to others you are not to be trifled with."
She turned to Ladios, seeking his support in her decision.
"I agree with Lucious and Rayn, you need to show that your decisions are absolute and that there are is no room for negotiation," he said, crossing his arms.
'I really don't want to make them afraid.' She pouted slightly.
Lucious, noticing Aurelia's facial expressions, spoke. "If you really believe you need to show them respect, then what about something in the manner of 'Holy Union of Valar'. I believe it captures both the holy nature of the Father and the union of humanity under the rule of Valar."
'Holy Union of Valar...' She tapped her cheek. That way, the name of Valar would remain, while giving respect to God, Cedric, and the other human kingdoms that would become a part of Valar's territory.
"I like that, what do the others think?" She asked the remaining duo. Of course, Rayn instantly agreed as she had expected. She quickly turned to Ladios and waited for his approval.
Much to her joy, he nodded. "I think that will work. I can tell that your majesty has your own reasons, so I will not oppose this."
Aurelia's smile beamed. "Of course, we can think of others too, as long as they are of a similar nature, there should be no issue."
Her advisors nodded in approval. She then tapped her finger against the table. "Now, while we are on this topic, I believe we should design a new flag that would honor our service to God. Our current flag has deep ties with the church of Chrunus, and I wish to distance ourselves as much as possible."
Of course, the flag change was a large endeavour, and it was impossible to finish in a mere day.
