Kyle begins to engage the infected horde, slicing and cutting through several with his Zeus Corps machete. In the nursery, Sarah speaks to Kayla.
Sarah: My fucking husband is out there!
Kayla: Hold on.
Sarah: He needs my help.
Kayla: Just hold on!
Sarah: He needs me!
Kayla: This is a kid. Give me a second, okay?
Peter: He's taking them all on.
Caleb: We have to go get him.
John: What?
John: He's right. We have to.
John nods with determination.
John: This is it. This is how we take back our home.
Kayla: Got it!
Sarah kisses Rachel's head.
Sarah: You're gonna be okay, baby.
Sarah runs outside with Caleb, John, Chris and Peter behind her. John hesitates, but then runs outside. Kyle continues taking on the infected horde, before Sarah, Caleb, John, Peter and Samantha join in. The group in a circle. Bryan looks outside to spot the group fighting the horde as do Anna and Chloe.
Kyle: Knock them away. Drive em back!
Anna and Chloe gather weapons and join the group in fighting the horde as do Connor, Sylvester and Bryan.
Kyle: We can win! We can win!
In the infirmary, Kayla continues treating Rachel's wound, before Rachel takes her hand.
Rachel: Kayla....Go....Help them....
Kayla: What?
Rachel: They need you, too....Please....
Savannah walks up to Kayla, then takes her hand. Savannah then speaks in sign language.
Savannah: I'll stay here with her...I'll make sure she lives.
Kayla speaks in sign language.
Kayla: You sure, Savannah?
Savannah nods, before she speaks in sign language.
Savannah: Yeah...just gotta treat the wound, right?
Kayla: (sign language) Yes....proud of you, lil sis....
Kayla squeezes Rachel's hand, before she walks and grabs her machete, taking a deep breath.
Kayla: Okay....
The group continues taking on the infected, John knocks down a female infected and prepares to finish off, but the infected reveals herself as an infected Melanie. John looks down at the turned Melanie, then shakes his head.
John: I'm sorry, Melanie.
John puts the infected Melanie down. At the tower, James and Hunter rush to save Cassandra as the platform becomes unstable.
James: No...
James turn to Hunter.
Hunter: There's too many of them.
James: I know....Go get her.
Hunter: James—
James: Go get her now!
James runs off as Hunter runs towards the tower.
James: Hey!
James shoots at several infected, gaining their attention.
James: Hey, you motherfuckers! Over here! Come get me!
The infected walk away from the tower and towards James. Cassandra stands up and spots James.
James: Hey! Over here!
Cassandra: James!
James continues gaining the infected's attention.
Cassandra: No! James!
Hunter climbs the tower, while James punches an infected with the butt of his pistol.
Hunter: Cassandra!
Cassandra turns to see Hunter climbing the tower.
Cassandra: Hunter!
James continues fighting off the infected, but eventually runs out of ammo in his pistol.
James: Fuck!
James resorts to killing the infected with the butt of his pistol, but is backed into the wall of Berrington while Hunter carefully gets to Cassandra. Hunter climbs onto the platform as the two look out to see James about to be overwhelmed.
James: Get out of here, Cassandra! Go!
Cassandra: No!
Cassandra pulls out her pistol and shoots at an infected while Hunter looks back, but then throws a rope over the tower. Cassandra attempts to shoot again, but is out of ammo.
Cassandra: Goddammit...
James struggles to keep the infected back.
Cassandra: No! James!
James: Get out! Go!
Cassandra kneels, banging on the floor of the platform and attempting to gain the infected attention.
Cassandra: Over here! Come on!
James continues fighting the infected, but they all prepare to overwhelm him as Cassandra is in tears.
Cassandra: James! JAMES!
Before James can get devoured, the infected around him are suddenly gunned down as James takes cover. The gunfire coming from Rocky, Abigail and Margaret, who are on top of the gate.
Rocky: Talk about good timing! Thank me later, buddy boy.
Rocky laughs, before he, Abigail and Margaret finish off the rest of the infected. Afterwards, Margaret, Abigail and Rocky help Cassandra off the platform onto the roof of their truck.
Margaret: There you go, Cassandra. We got you.
Abigail: That's it.
James walks over and enters the truck with Shawn.
Shawn: The fuck happened?!
James: I don't know, dude. I just got back, too.
Shawn: Well...shit.
James: We gotta figure out to lead some of them away, but these things are scattered all across Berrington.
Shawn: Fuck that. We get em all together. We won't have to lead them all away.
James: How do we do that?
Hunter jumps onto the roof and then into the truck.
Hunter: We create an electric river from that pond that's in Berrington.
James: The battery in this a Zeus Corps battery. It was high electric capabilities....That could work!
In Berrington, the survivors and Berrington residents continue taking out the infected. Shawn backs the Zeus Corps truck up, before taking out the highly charged battery while James, Cassandra, Abigail, Hunter and Margaret take out any closing in infected. Shawn disperses all of the fuel into the pond. The infected back the survivors and Berrington residents up into the corner of a wall. A Berrington resident is taken down by infected while distracted.
Bryan: They're gonna overwhelm us!
Kyle: Don't panic! Keep fighting!
Rocky drives the truck up as Shawn pounds the top.
Shawn: Stop, Rocky!
Shawn throws the electric battery into the gas infected pond, before he then shoots it with his assault rifle. The impact creating a highly sparkly and electric river that gains the infected's attention as they begin to follow the lights of the electricity, only to be burnt to a crisp as they enter the river. This takes a large portion of the infected attacking the survivors and Berrington residents away as they also see what is happening.
Kyle: Push forward!
Sarah: Come on!
The survivors and Berrington residents use this opportunity to slaughter more infected. James, Shawn, Cassandra, Margaret, Abigail, Rocky and Hunter join the fight and aid the rest of survivors and Berrington residents in taking out several infected. The next morning, the streets of Berrington are filled with dead infected as the horde has been defeated. Outside the infirmary, Bryan, Connor, Chloe, John, Peter, Anna, Sylvester, Caleb, Abigail, Rocky and Chris all wait outside the infirmary. Rocky then enters while inside the infirmary, Kayla treats Shawn's wound while Margaret treats Cassandra's leg wound with James by her side. Sarah leans against the wall, then leans back, holding Savannah's hand. Rachel is in another room unconscious and with a bandage and a patch over her right eye as Kyle is sitting, holding Rachel's hand. Hunter walks in and Kyle looks up.
Hunter: I.....I wanted to come check on her if...
Kyle nods.
Kyle: It's okay....Come on in.
Hunter walks in and sits.
Hunter: Has she...? Uh....
Kyle: No....she hasn't woken up yet....
Kyle sighs, then sits up. Kyle then walks over to Hunter.
Kyle: Stay with her....
Hunter nods.
Hunter: Yes....I will, sir.
Kyle: Call me Kyle, kid.
Hunter nods, before he walks over to Sarah.
Sarah: How is she?
Kyle: Still out....
Kyle sighs.
Sarah: You okay?
Kyle: I was wrong, Sarah.....about Berrington....I thought after living behind these walls for so long, they wouldn't be able to see....but today....I saw what they can do....what we can do together....we won a great fight...we can rebuild and expand the walls...We'll make Laura's legacy possible....She really did care about this place...When I was out there, with them...after it was over....when I knew we had this place from both the alive and the infected...I had this feeling...I haven't felt that since....in a long time....We can do this....We can...
