Chapter 165 - Tournaments and The Anima?

The crowd cheered uproariously to the glorious figure of Loki standing above his enemy, their Warframe laying melting away upon a large platform that hung above the battlefield below. Golden horns extended from his Warframe as his scythe blade stood beside him, stabbed into the concrete below.

"Give it up to the son of Odin himself!!! LOKI!!!" Fireworks exploded in the background whilst half of the crowd stood and screamed, applause and shouts of excitement exploding out in a dull cacophonous booming.

Reporters and game media quickly rushed over to the after-game question area, hoping to get an interview with the world-famous Loki Odinson. Fans and supporters of all types rushed over in an attempt to get close to him and perhaps get an autograph. The man himself was smiling widely with his pearly white teeth, his Asgardian stature bringing forth his considerable charisma in tidal waves that could nearly be felt. His scythe was draped along his back and slowly morphed back into his signature spear-staff.

"Loki! Can I get your signature!?"

"Ahhhhh!!! What level are you in Warframe!?"

"What weapons do you normally run in Steel Path!?"

Hundreds of voices clashed with one another in attempting to garner his notice, let alone his attention. The super star of gaming soon found himself ensconced between his fellow competitors, turned losers, as the media of Midgard began throwing questions at them all.

Benevolently he allowed them some answers and gave his former enemies some level of respect, the media and Midgardians seemed to eat that up like meed in the great hall. Half an hour passed in such endeavours before he was once again freed of the crowding mortals and the hounding reporters. That was when he felt it...

*VRRRUMMMM*

A tidal wave of purified anima swept past him and then, like a wave, receded back onto him. His body urged him to follow the movement and succumb to Midgard's pitiful gravitational pull... Yet he held still. Amidst his resistant frame clung a surprise and awe that almost swept away the impression of strength within his frame.

"By the ancestors... How has the anima begun spreading so far in this realm!?" He spoke aloud into the back of his limousine, his resplendent armour having been traded for a comfortable Midgardian suit. He was close to sitting when another pulse ushered forth, washing over the world.

The buzz of pure magic faded to the background of his thoughts as the piercing gaze of Heimdal tickled the back of his neck, his perception being accosted by the fearsome guardian of Asgard.

"My prince, it would seem that one of Freya's paramours has begun cleansing Midgard of taint." Loki narrowed his eyes as he stood before Heimdal in spirit form, the rainbow glow of the Bifrost framing the horn blower.

"How does this bring forth the anima? It makes no sense."

Heimdal grimaced as his eyes spiralled for a few moments.

"It does my prince. Midgard is under our rule for a reason."

Loki dropped onto his back foot and began tapping the front one, urging the watcher to continue his history lesson. The man took a breath and grimaced once more, his head turning a centimetre to the left as if listening to some distant voice before speaking.

"Very well." He paused to collect himself. "In the past when Hel was princess of Asgard and she lead the armies of Asgard under the All Father's permission, Midgard was filled with many pantheons." Loki nodded and stopped tapping his foot.

"These pantheons fought one another constantly and used the native Midgardian population as pawns for the battles and manipulations." He looked into the middle distance as he so often did. "Asgard, or as we were known on Midgard; The Norse, pantheon was one of the most popular and powerful pantheons."

"During this period, before the Empire known as Rome began flourishing, we fought our arch-nemesis pantheon, The Greek Gods, otherwise known as the Olympians." Loki grimaced at the mention of that specific collection of gods. They were prolific in their tales and stories even amongst Asgard and that was not a positive thing.

"During our warring with the Olympians we drew upon the power of Yggdrasil itself in an attempt to bring forth their version of Ragnarok, The Titanomachy." He licked his lips as if they were parched, though they were not. "Many titans and elder gods spilled blood and wept at the loss of family and loved ones. Death was common and it buried the small continent known as Atlantis, that continent being the origin of our efforts."

Loki made to interrupt but was held back by the raised hand of the watcher.

"During that ritual to summon death upon our most hated enemy a schism was broken between the dimensional barriers that leaked hellish influences and anathema into the land. One such dimension was the Anima."

He continued with a faster pace, as if he were attempting to squeeze out the information as fast as possible so as to gloss over the pain and destruction that his own people had caused. "Both pantheons made truce that day as the outer gods, those of the Eldritch, began infesting the very world we were fighting over. Together, reluctantly, we merged our domains and powers for days so as to shove these dimensions back into place and then seal the cracks with our combined might."

"For any repair however there needs to be a binding agent to keep the other dimensions at bay." Loki blinked and then made the connection, his face paling.

"The Anima..." Loki whispered the words as if he were speaking a magical curse.

"Indeed. The Anima was used as this binding agent and ever since it has slowly been weakening. The very dimension itself is crumbling every day and was soon to be completely destroyed by the power of the others."

"No longer?" Loki whispered in wonder.

"No longer. Freya's wife, Yuna, has begun integrating the very dimension that holds back chaos and the material plane we live in. Within years the entire population of Midgard will be Seidr, a consequence or perhaps boon of being at the very fault line between thousands of dimensions."

Loki opened his mouth in shock and felt a tingle in the depths of his magic. Heimdal was speaking truth and the very substance of the Anima, Magic, was confirming it. He didn't need to use or manipulate the anima-magic to activate his Seidr but it was a large part of his repertoire.

"There is no holding it back, is there?"

Heimdal shook his head and closed his eyes once more.

"No my prince. Much like a stone hitting a stagnant pool, the ripples have already been created and the water moves once more."

Loki took a deep breath before fading away, his spirit returning to his body. He sat in the back of his limousine and steepled his hands upon his lap. Midgard was insignificant now, but in the future they would perhaps be equal to the Asgardians in power and knowledge. Looking out at their pathetic excuse for a city he couldn't help but smile at the prospect of him guiding them down their path, even if it was in a small way.

....

Yuna walked through another city with her powers at full power. Her wife had boosted her powers just the day before, giving her access to nature chakra and the ability to absorb corruption, recycle it and then boost her cleansing abilities.

Already she had strolled through New York and cleaned away the smog and years of toxic pollution in the waterways... Now, she was walking through Washington DC and cleansing the drugs from the streets, the toxins in the sewers, waterways and air. Demonic corruption was abundant in the capitol of the USA, the very air singing with the presence of demons and devils. Not all that surprising given the amount of government workers and politicians that clung to the city like a fetid parasite.

She sighed as another clump of demonic essence was consumed, digested and then expunged into pure magic. The process was utterly satisfying and gave her a sense of accomplishment every time she managed it. Even more than that, it was growing her power and influence, giving her the importance that her father had so often denied her growing up. Her wife was entirely supportive and in fact gave her even more onus in what happened with the world. She was smiling ear to ear by the time she had cleansed Washington.

....

Poison Ivy's eyes rolled up into her head as her hand dove under her shorts. A moan escaped her luscious red lips as mother Earth sent another vibration up her spine and into her nether regions. Whoever was cleansing her mother was divine in their efficiency.

More than that, they were in tune with her to such an extent that her existence was an aphrodisiac to the once prisoner. Toxins that had been present around her were nullified, the air was pristine and even the sky seemed more dense with natural clouds.

The planet was singing in happiness whilst the very feeling of nature became more calm, subdued in a way that was, in her experience, impossible. Even nature, the untameable and ever evolving thing that it was, was bowing down for this being.

Liquid started slowly dripping from her shorts as her fingers became slick with juices. She moaned once more as the other people around her blushed or fled from that place on the train. Oh, she was going to fuck whoever was cleaning up her mother's surface...

....

Freya looked out over Freyavellir and watched as thousands of people milled about in the streets below her office, The capitol of Australia had officially been moved yesterday after all.

The last few days had been chaotic to the extreme for her. Demonic rituals across the world, Hydra attempting to destroy London and bring down its bridge, whilst no doubt singing about what they shall do, The Hand being wiped out whenever Magneto's forces could get their hands on them... It was all so much.

MORE IMPORTANTLY though, was the fact that she had been toying with her already created games. You see, SWTOR was getting love from her by introducing new content and missions, greater mounts and armour sets, more force powers and variants... It was growing the community even stronger despite so many people focussing on Warframe instead.

Minecraft got some love as well however, her additions ensuring that new people log in and play. Hatch-able dragons and rideable dragons were now a staple and added a new aspect to PVP when it was activated on servers and single player worlds. Some magical mods were added, reflecting the actual magic of the Wizarding World and also the sorcery used by Kamar-Taj. The final addition was a mod, turned DLC, that added a cartable item that could boost heart totals. All of these DLC items and contents were end game and complex to get, but they served to add flavour to many people's worlds.

A smile spread across her face as she felt another wave of the anima scream past her and then ebb backwards like a wave upon the ocean. Her wife was doing an excellent job. Soon her mission to bring anima to every person on Earth would be complete. Alongside that she could pamper all of her wives once more...

"Freya, you need to complete your paper work...!"

She exhaled in petulant frustration before stomping across the room and throwing herself in her chair. Dozens of pens began flying in the air and examining the paperwork once again.

"Your such a bore Niccolo..."

"Yes, yes, just sign here." She huffed once more.
