The army outside is slightly better than those inside the city. After all, lives can still be used to fill the moat, so there's not much to eat, just some tender meat taken to add dishes and drinks for the General. The regular soldiers' staple food remains the demons and beasts hunted outside the city. But the demon meat is old and tough, and smells like wild boar, truly not as delicious as lamb soup.
Tie Dan also took a spin around, following the usual practice to whisk away those who haven't reached the height of a wheel, leaving the rest to go unchecked.
What can be done about them? Kill them all? Or forbid people from eating the dead? Let them starve?
Besides, it's not manageable anyway. Besides the soldiers besieging and defending the city, there are also demons all over the mountains and fields.
