Ye Shikai didn't feel much pain; his nerves were weakening, the sensation of pain no longer so clear. Blood flowed from the wounds on his chest and abdomen, yet he felt nothing at all, as if this body were not his.
What entered his sight was He Linghan's miserable wails, and the panic-stricken Mi Wen. Her expression was like that of a good child who had accidentally killed someone. Faintly, he could still hear her sobbing. She had already come back to her senses, but seemed unable to accept any of this; or rather, she simply did not believe what she was seeing.
