Originally silent, the skies above Sea Rock City were continually besieged by a whistling storm. On the distant horizon, dark clouds hung down like an iron curtain, pressing the entire sky ominously low, as if it might crash down on the sea at any moment. The clouds churned and twisted, with dark purple electric flashes flickering within, yet no thunder followed, only a suffocating silence.
The ruins on the city streets appeared even more desolate under the dim sky. The broken skyscrapers resembled the skeletons of giant beasts, with shards of glass reflecting an ominous light. The palms along Marine Avenue had long withered, and their dry branches and leaves rustled in the wind, like some creature whispering.
