Cherreads

Chapter 65 - Android 16

Bulma squinted through her scouter's feed. "Wait… that design— that's *not* the same Sixteen we know. The cranial sensors, the chest plating— Gero must've rebuilt him from the ground up."

Broly cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders, grinning through blood. "Come on… show me more!"

Then the timer on 16's chest lit up—a red clock-face, mechanical arms spinning faster and faster until they blurred. When it hit zero, the sound *stopped*.

With a *whumm* that vibrated through the barrier, 16's ki exploded outward. The polished emerald green of his aura fractured into shards of scarlet light. His hair—short before—sharpened and lengthened, sweeping down like burning copper wires. His optics turned from amber to ice-blue, pulsing like reactor cores.

> **Android 16:** "Protocol Zero: Chrono Burst. Limiters disengaged."

He caught Broly's incoming fist—dead center.

The sound was compression. Broly's knuckles met an immovable wall. 16's arm didn't even twitch.

Then, with his other hand, the android rotated his wrist; the cannon split open, panels aligning like petals. The inner core glowed pale blue, a faint whir building into a scream.

> **Android 16:** "Mecha Energy Blast."

He fired.

A column of energy, clean and narrow as a needle, speared straight into Broly's chest. It hit point-blank—no time to guard, no time to flare his aura. The entire arena vanished behind a wall of white-blue light.

The shockwave slammed against the barrier so hard the angelic wards *flashed red*. Entire platforms shook. Even Gast had to raise an arm to shield his eyes.

When the smoke finally peeled away, Broly was on one knee, armor in molten strips, steam coiling from his skin. His breathing was ragged, teeth bared. He looked down at the burn etched across his chestplate—then up, slowly, eyes trembling between fury and awe.

> **Broly:** "W-what… is this? I've… never felt thissss!"

He roared, the sound like a planet cracking.

His aura went *feral*—the gold bleeding into deep, radioactive green. His muscles expanded, veins pulsing with ki like molten rivers. The energy pressure tripled in an instant. Even the gods watching from distant stands leaned forward.

> **Vegito (Timeline 2)** muttered, "He's doing it again… that mutation of his ki…"

>

> **Gast (Timeline 7)**, arms folded, narrowed his eyes. "that Power.."

Broly's hair sparked, the tips flashing with electric light. For a split second, arcs of pure white ran through his aura, and the ring *buckled*.

The transformation *howled*.

**Legendary Super Saiyan 2.**

The instant it stabilized, Broly vanished. One second he stood amid fire; the next, his fist collided with 16's jaw with such force that half the arena's tiles shattered outward in concentric waves.

The android skidded backward, boots carving furrows through stone. Broly didn't let him breathe. He blurred forward, *again*, slamming a shoulder into 16's abdomen, then a knee to the chin, then both fists locked together in an overhead smash that bent the android halfway into the ground.

16 countered with a piston-like uppercut; Broly twisted, taking it across the cheek, blood spraying sideways—but his grin never faded.

He answered with a savage right hook, followed by a spinning elbow that cracked 16's temple plating and made sparks shower from the wound. The android's eyes flickered but refocused instantly.

They exchanged blows faster than the crowd could track: fist meeting palm, knee colliding with forearm, shockwaves slamming into the barrier in rapid pulses like artillery fire.

Broly's movements weren't refined—they were predatory. He ripped through defense patterns by sheer instinct. Each punch dug deeper, each strike heavier than the last.

16 adapted mid-exchange. He extended a mechanical claw to catch Broly's wrist, twisted, and slammed a point-blank blast into his ribs. Broly spun, caught 16 by the throat, and drove him across the arena like a battering ram, embedding him into the far wall.

> **Android 16:** "Combat analysis complete."

He erupted from the crater, both cannons now charging. Twin energy halos formed around his wrists—one red, one blue. He clapped his hands together, and the halos merged into a single magnetic field. When he fired, it wasn't a beam—it was a *wave*, wide enough to consume the ring.

Broly met it head-on, roaring, pushing through the storm. His body disintegrated around the edges of the blast—skin scorched, hair whipping backward—but his momentum didn't break.

Each step forward left a crater. Each scream shook the barrier.

He reached 16's firing arm, seized it, and *snapped it in half*.

16's sensors blared alarms, but he didn't retreat. He drove his other arm—still functional—into Broly's side like a battering ram, discharging another burst. Both fighters disappeared in the explosion.

---

Silence.

When the smoke finally cleared, the ring was a fractured wasteland of glowing cracks. 16 was on one knee, one arm dangling uselessly, half his faceplate gone. Broly was still standing—but swaying, chest heaving, half his armor vaporized.

Blood traced his jawline. His aura still burned green.

> **Broly, panting:** "You… actually hurt me. Heh…"

He grinned, eyes wild, ki starting to pulse again like a heartbeat.

> **Android 16:** "Objective recalibration: termination probability decreasing. Escalation—required."

The timer on his chest began to re-form its numbers, slowly counting down again.

Bulma's face drained of color. "He's got *another* phase."

> **Vegito (Timeline 2):** "Broly has also not show everything."

Broly and Android 16 met at the center of the ring. There was no talking, no taunts. They both moved at once.

Their first clash shook the ground. Broly's punch hit before 16's; the android's arm twisted back, servos whining. A blast of dust rolled across the arena. Broly followed immediately with a shoulder strike and a heavy knee. 16 blocked one, parried another, and used the gap to fire an energy shot from his wrist cannon. Broly's hand caught the blast and shoved it upward where it burst against the barrier.

Broly advanced again. His movements grew faster and less controlled. He smashed 16's guard with short, crushing hits—fists, elbows, a spinning kick that sent fragments of the android's armor across the floor. 16 reset his stance, extended both arms, and fired twin energy bursts to push Broly back, then charged through the smoke. The two traded a dozen strikes in a few seconds, each impact a blunt crack echoing off the walls.

Broly grinned. His energy climbed on its own. The gold in his aura deepened until it filled the ring. 16 couldn't gain space. He planted his feet and redirected his cannons toward Broly's chest, firing again and again, trying to keep the Saiyan at range. Each shot hit but didn't stop him. Broly forced through the blasts, seized 16's arm, and slammed him into the tiles. The ground split under the impact.

16 used the recoil to roll away, his systems recalibrating mid-movement. He lifted his arm, but Broly was already there. A heavy hook broke through his defense. The next hit bent the android's chest plate inward. 16 countered with a low sweep and managed to land one clean strike on Broly's ribs; the Saiyan grunted but didn't step back.

They separated for a moment. Both were breathing hard, one through lungs, the other through damaged vents.

Broly charged again, faster. He caught 16's next punch, crushed his wrist joint, and hammered his elbow into the android's shoulder. Circuits flared and smoked. Broly grabbed him by the neck and hurled him across the ring. 16 hit the barrier and fell forward onto one knee.

He raised his head just in time to see Broly inhale. The energy gathered at Broly's mouth brightened to white.

The beam hit before 16 could dodge. It scraped across his head and tore away part of his ear casing. The explosion pressed against the barrier until it glowed red. When the light cleared, 16 was still standing but half-blind and listing to one side.

In the stands, Dr. Gero watched the numbers on his display climb and then fall again."Impossible… his systems are perfect. He carries the data of thirteen, fourteen, fifteen—and he's still being pushed back."

He tapped a sequence on his control pad, face tight. "If he can't win, then the data must survive."

Broly didn't notice. He was already on 16 again, driving him across the arena with relentless force. Each hit left cracks in the floor. The android tried to block, but Broly's next punch sent him sliding. Another followed, then a kick that lifted him off the ground. Broly leapt, caught him in mid-air, and threw him down with a roar.

16 hit hard. His chest timer began flashing, the numbers spinning down. He tried to rise; his limbs froze. His eyes went white, his body rigid. The lights in his armor dimmed.

Broly waited a second, expecting a counterattack. Nothing came.

"Stand up," he said.No response.

He grabbed 16 by the collar, shook him once, and threw him aside. The android fell motionless, dust settling over him.

The angel overseeing the match raised a hand. "Winner: Broly, Timeline 4."

Broly turned away, breathing slow, expression flat. The fight was over, but he didn't feel satisfied. He wanted resistance, not silence.

Up in the observation rows, Dr. Gero exhaled and watched the last data transfer complete. A small indicator light blinked on his wrist console. Across the stands, Android 21 opened her eyes. For a second, they glowed red.

Gero's voice was low. "Keep it hidden. Not yet."

She nodded once, a small smile forming. "It's stronger than I expected. Even his data… even Broly's."

Gero looked back toward the ring. "Good. Wait your turn."

Broly left the arena without another word. The audience was still murmuring. The ring repaired itself.

Match 25: Android 19 (Timeline 3) vs Ginyu (Timeline 8)

Android 19 entered the arena with his usual slow mechanical stride, eyes flicking as he scanned his opponent. Ginyu of the Frieza Empire walked in confident, his purple skin glinting under the lights, power far beyond what he'd once had under Frieza's command.

It didn't matter.

From the first exchange, 19's energy absorption and sheer endurance erased Ginyu's offense. The captain tried switching to more tactical movement, but every strike he landed was drained the instant it touched the android's palms. In less than a minute, 19 had forced him to one knee, drained his ki completely, and finished the fight with a clean energy blast to the chest.

"Winner: Android 19, Timeline 3."

Ginyu was carried off the field, conscious but humiliated. Even the empire warriors didn't cheer.

Match 26: Android 20 (Timeline 3) vs Bido (Timeline 10)

Dr. Gero's counterpart stepped forward this time—Android 20 himself, calm and smiling. Bido, one of Bojack's crew, cracked his neck and smiled back, his body wrapped in blue energy. (Yes here Dr. Gero and Android 20 are not the same being)

The outcome was nearly identical to the last match. 20's mechanical precision and knowledge of energy absorption made every attack from Bido backfire. Bido pushed for raw strength, but Gero was patient. He baited him into overexerting, then caught him with a single grab that drained him dry.The fight ended without spectacle.

"Winner: Android 20, Timeline 3."

Bulma from Timeline 1 muttered quietly, "Timeline 3 keeps Fighting battles one of after another… what are the angels doing?."

Match 27: Dodoria (Timeline 8) vs Yajirobe (Timeline 9)

The audience didn't expect much from this one. They were wrong.

Yajirobe from Timeline 9 stepped into the ring with a bored expression and his sword slung lazily over his shoulder. Dodoria taunted him before the match even began, laughing about "fat weaklings who don't belong here."

The match lasted two seconds.

Dodoria lunged forward; Yajirobe moved once. The sword flashed, a dull sound followed, and Dodoria dropped to the ground with a cut across his chest that nearly split his armor. He was still breathing, but barely.

Yajirobe wiped the blade on his sleeve, sighed, and walked off without saying a word.Even Vegeta smirked a little.

"Winner: Yajirobe, Timeline 9."

Match 28: Kogu (Timeline 10) vs Kami (Timeline 7)

Kami had been quiet the whole tournament, calm and analytical.Kogu came in impatient, his aura already flaring green.

This fight was tighter than anyone expected. Kami used his refined control and defensive barriers to survive Kogu's offensive bursts. Kogu broke through several times, but each hit only met another layer of energy. Kami countered with pinpoint strikes to pressure points and careful ki bursts that disrupted rhythm.

When both fighters were exhausted, Kami created a brief blinding flash, moved behind Kogu, and used a twin-palm strike that shut his ki flow down completely.

"Winner: Kami, Timeline 7."

Match 29: Adult Dende (Timeline 7) vs Krillin (Timeline 9)

Dende, older and battle-trained in his own timeline, fought with clean technique and precise healing control, but Krillin was simply in another league. His speed outclassed Dende's reactions by wide margins.

The match ended respectfully: Krillin knocked Dende out of the ring with a controlled blow to the chest and immediately helped him back up.

"You've grown strong, Dende. Stand proud," Krillin said as he bowed.Dende smiled weakly. "Guess I still have a lot to learn."

"Winner: Krillin, Timeline 9."

Match 30: Tapion (Timeline 12) vs Bujin (Timeline 10)

The air shifted when Tapion entered. He still carried his sword and ocarina, his expression cold from the damage of his last match. Bujin from Bojack's crew cracked his knuckles and laughed, mocking the "musician with a toy sword."

They clashed immediately. Tapion fought with precision—his sword cutting energy lines, each note of his ocarina shaping the field around him. Bujin countered with psychic threads, trying to restrain him, but Tapion's timing was sharper.

The fight dragged for minutes. Both bled. Both stumbled. When Tapion finally broke through, his sword tore through Bujin's barrier and struck him across the chest, cutting deep enough to end it.

Tapion collapsed after the call. The healers moved in at once.

"Winner: Tapion, Timeline 12."

He was taken away to recover, leaving a smear of blood where he'd fallen.

While the arena cooled and the healers worked, murmurs spread through the stands. The Saiyans from Timeline 1 and 2 had drifted close to each other, arguing quietly but seriously.

Future Trunks leaned forward. "Gohan's energy vanished, but it didn't die out—it was pulled somewhere. That means he's alive."

Bulma from Timeline 2 frowned. "And what about Cell? His signal disappeared the same way. He was far away from gast at that moment, and then just—gone."

Vegito stood behind them, arms crossed, expression unreadable. "It isn't coincidence. The timing's too exact."

Piccolo nodded slowly. "Maybe they were taken. By who, though?"

Goten looked uneasy. "You think… the same thing could happen again?"

No one answered.
