-Why did you do that?.
Morgan asked, visibly upset, glaring at that being with spectral blue eyes. The entity seemed to stare at an imaginary point in the void, wearing a pleased smile that only intensified the tension in the air. With a mocking tone, it replied:
-I don't like snoops.
Morgan frowned, indignation clear on his face. He was furious about the way that being had intimidated Luzbel.
-But you didn't have to do that. She wasn't doing anything wrong.
( Said Morgan with an annoyed grimace )
-Are you kidding me, right?.
( The blue-eyed being responded seriously )
-That girl literally just rummaged through your mind, and you're actually telling me she's not doing anything wrong?
( Said the blue-eyed being in a reprimanding tone )
-Bu… but she doesn't have bad intentions. You've seen her. She tried to protect us and has been taking care of my body all this time.
( Morgan said seriously, protesting )
-And what about it? Does that give her the right to dig into people's minds to see what's inside? I don't know if you're stupid or just incredibly naive.
( Said the blue-eyed being in a tone of annoyance )
-But she didn't want to do it, did you forget? She was forced to. She was just following orders. That wasn't a reason to scare her like that.
( Morgan said, still protesting strongly )
-Say whatever you want; I don't care. If she digs deep enough, she might also see my memories, and I'm not letting some stranger crawl into my head.
( Said the blue-eyed being, irritated )
-Why are you like this? You're so aggressive… what's wrong with you?
( Said Morgan, confused )
Upon hearing that question, the blue-eyed being burst into laughter. He laughed so hard he ended up on the floor, curled up and holding his stomach.
-Hahahahaha… my stomach… He's asking what's wrong with me… and why I act this way… as if something bad is happening to me! Hahahaha.
( Said the blue-eyed being, writhing on the floor and clutching his stomach )
-What's so funny?
( Morgan said, outraged )
-It's just… do you really think something's wrong with me just because I behave in a coherent way? Hahahaha… that really kills me.
Still laughing, the being stood up. He wiped his tears away, took a deep breath, and approached Morgan, placing a heavy hand on his shoulder.
-Look, kid. Just because you live in your little fantasy world where everything is kindness, love, and everyone is good and friendly to you… doesn't mean people like me live in that same world. Some of us live in reality, where people are bad, manipulative, and have hidden motives. That's why they don't deserve blind trust or faith—especially if you don't even know them.
( Said the being, patting Morgan's shoulder )
-Why not? Why not trust her? She didn't do anything wrong. She could've revealed what she saw in my mind, but she didn't. She protected me… and for some reason, she looks really sad…
( Morgan said seriously )
-You're honestly a huge fool. At this rate, anyone could trick you just by putting on some sad eyes. Look, kid: since we're sharing this body, let's make something clear. You're not going to convince me with your crap about kindness and trust. So, it doesn't matter who it is—I'll protect this body at any cost… even if that means you and your soul have to die.
( Said the blue-eyed being, arms crossed, expression cold )
-Fine by me. But I'll show you it won't come to that… that you can trust people.
( Said Morgan optimistically, with a faint smile )
-Are you sure?.
( Said the blue-eyed being with a smile )
-Yes. Completely.
( Morgan replied with a confident smile )
The being clicked his tongue, amused.
-Alright then. Let's make a deal. If one day, for any reason, we end up in a situation where this body is dying because it was betrayed or hurt by someone from this world… I will take full control. I will prioritize my survival, and you will be lost forever. You won't return to that skeleton, nor stay here. You will simply cease to exist. Do you agree?.
( Said the being with a confident smile )
He extended his hand. As he did, his palm burst into blue flames matching the exact hue of his eyes. Morgan stared at it. He hesitated. The heat seemed to consume more than air—it felt like it was devouring his very resolve.
The being noticed his hesitation and mocked him.
-What's wrong? Not looking so confident anymore, kid.
Irritated, Morgan inhaled sharply, clenched his jaw, and with determination, grasped the being's flaming hand. His voice, firm and unwavering, declared:
-I accept. But in return, if I prove you wrong, then you'll apologize… admit you were mistaken… and help me make this world a better place.
They stared at each other, two wills colliding, two philosophies clashing. Neither stepped back.
-I'll show you you're wrong.
( Said Morgan, resolute )
-Try it if you can.
( The being replied with a confident smile )
The blue fire engulfed them both, twisting like a whirlwind of flames that slammed against the ground. A burning current surged through the mental space.
-Good. The deal is made. I hope you don't regret doing this.
( Said the being, releasing Morgan's hand and turning away )
Morgan didn't answer. He simply held his determined stare.
-By the way, I almost forgot. I want to ask you something.
( Said Morgan seriously )
-Huh? What is it?.
( Said the being, disinterested )
-Back there, when we were in that woman's office… why did you attack her like that? It was dangerous. You could have blown the whole place up. And… why haven't I woken up? I've been unconscious way too long.
( Said Morgan, frustrated )
-Wow, wow… calm down, brat. One thing at a time. First off, I wasn't the one who took control of the body that time.
( Said the being, irritated )
-What? Then if it wasn't you… who was it?
( Morgan said, surprised )
The being fell silent. His expression hardened—focused, alert.
-Well… it seems we're not the only ones living here.
( Said the being, looking into the darkness )
-What do you mean we're not the only ones?
( Morgan said, confused and annoyed )
-Look over there, genius.
The being gestured toward the deepest corner of Morgan's mind. Among the darkness, something began to take shape… very slowly. Morgan's skin crawled instantly. That thing condensed itself, black and white, made of shifting shadows that intertwined as if they were breathing. Its eyes formed first: two big, white, empty orbs staring directly at him.
-W-what is that?
( Morgan said, terrified )
-It seems we've got a guest. And a troublesome one.
( Said the being with a grimace of annoyance )
-That, kid… is what you people call instinct.
