Julia drove with Angel beside her, while Jack, as usual, sat in the back seat alone.
The car ride was filled with the chatter of his sisters, who were busy discussing their friends at school.
Both were in college —one a junior, the other a sophomore—while Jack had just moved on to his first year of college.
The difference in their worlds was growing more apparent, and though he loved his sisters, their conversations didn't interest him much.
As the car pulled up in front of the college, Julia turned to look at Jack.
"We're here. Try not to get yourself into trouble, okay?" she said with a teasing smirk.
Jack rolled his eyes but grinned.
"Trouble is the last thing on my mind. Trust me." With that, he opened the door and stepped out, stretching his arms before slinging his bag over his shoulder.
He barely spared his sisters another glance as he walked away, his thoughts already elsewhere.
