Anna stared out the window of the car, her eyes staring at the passing vehicles in a haze. She was finally in Eastgate just as her mother wanted. But all she wanted was to return to Empire City where the two people she loved were.
"Welcome back, madame, Young Miss," the butler who had been waiting said once he saw them.
"Yes, it is good to be back," Evelyn said but Anna didn't share the same sentiments. Noticing Anna's foul mood, she sighed. "You just need a little bit of time. With the distance between you two, you'll forget about him soon. Besides, there are a lot of men… better men who are waiting for you to pick from," she said.
"Can you at least try to act… no, pretend to be understanding? You are already planning to throw me to the next man when you just forced me to leave mine," Anna snapped. Seeing the scowl on Evelyn's face, Anna just couldn't bring herself to keep standing anywhere near her anymore and took her steps inside.
