Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Heaven

[3rd POV]

Stepping into the Heavens was an...interesting experience. It was...bright. So incredibly bright. It was also far different than the Underworld in just about every single way. It wasn't seemingly as large, but she could tell it was even more ancient.

Just gazing at the home of the angels made Morgan understand why it was so hard to break into the place. Why it was that nobody had ever broken through the barriers around the home of the Angels, at least, besides Lucifer himself.

The place was protected with wards that even she had to admit were incredible. Sure, she could now make wards well beyond them thanks to her power surpassing that of the Biblical God. And the Biblical God was the creator of the wards that surround this place.

But she could also tell that the wards were seemingly weakening, probably because nobody had reclaimed control over the heavenly system. And without someone controlling the heavenly system, the heavens cannot be properly managed in their full capacity.

Michael was trying his best, that much was obvious. But sometimes your best is simply not enough. And when you are talking about Heaven itself, his best was far from enough. It had to be absolutely perfect in order to properly run the place, and he was not properly running it.

He simply couldn't.

Walking through the gates of Heaven, Morgan almost immediately noticed the large population of angels that were all staring at her. Most of them in awe, wide eyed as they saw her large halo and her wings that were glowing brilliantly.

They also all noticed the power that was passively rolling out of her, power that was similar to that of their father. Her holy power wasn't as pure as his, but she had arguably as much as he did.

She felt like their father.

Some of the angels looked like they wished to move forward, to ask questions of their older siblings. But one look from the Seraphim and they all stayed silent, understanding that something about her was important.

That they were doing something important that could not wait any longer.

They wondered what it could be, but decided against asking, and just watched as Morgan walked past them with the seraphim around her.

"They're quite the curious folk, aren't they?" Morgan asked, feeling the gazes of thousands of angels all on her. Some looking at her in fear, some in awe, and some of them were in confusion. None of them knew who she was, only that she had power similar to their father.

And that interested them more than anything had in a long time.

"Ah, yes. Sorry about them. They can feel fathers power on you" Michael said with a small chuckle, inwardly hoping this didn't make Morgan uncomfortable or anything.

It would be a bad way to start out her ruling over the Heavens.

"It's fine. I've been stared at by thousands before, I run one the Underworld already, Michael" Morgan responded, a little amused with the man's worry. The man looked away slightly in embarrassment, realizing that she was right.

His worry was unfounded.

"Are you sure you're not our father? You feel so much like him!" Gabriel asked with her pouty lips sticking out, Morgan shook her head in response.

"Nope. Like I said before Gabriel, I simply have incredibly pure holy power that is similar to your fathers" Morgan responded. She found the woman's expression to be funny enough, but she wasn't going to lie to her or anything.

"Hmph, I don't believe you" Gabriel responded with a pout on her lips, glancing to the side like a child. Morgan just chuckled at her words, as she was acting like a child.

It was cute.

"Gabriel, stop bugging F-Morgan, she has more important things to do" Raphael said, cutting his sister off from continuing to speak.

"It's not a problem, Raphael. It's more cute than anything" Morgan said, as the four Seraphim looked at her in slight surprise, with Gabriel flushing slightly at her words. Inwardly confident that this woman was related to her father in some form.

It didn't matter either way, as she was eventually led to the seventh heaven. The place in which the throne of heaven presides. Not only that, but it is this place that the "Sacred Gear" system was placed, as well as "Gods System". The place in which the Biblical God lived during his life.

When Morgan stepped into this area of the heavens, she could feel the changes within it. The power that passively exuded from this area was incredible. The defenses around it were even stronger, the strongest wards she had ever seen.

They were truly impressive, insanely impressive. On par with her own wards, even surpassing them in some areas. Meaning his wards likely took years to create properly, and a shit ton of work that hers didn't. While hers only took a few days and were just put together out of necessity more than anything.

It was the throne itself that caught Morgan's attention more than anything. The power that was passively rippling from it. The way it was almost...calling to her, the power that was pulling at her, power so very similar to the holy power that she had within her.

And it was the throne that she began to walk to. The seraphim only watched as she silently walked up to it, the simple glowing white throne that looked like it was made of marble or something. But it glowed slightly with a divine light, golden in color.

Placing her hand onto the armrest of the throne, she felt the power running over her hand, as if it was testing her if she was worthy. And seeing as it didn't do anything to stop her, it would seem she was.

"What will you all do if I sit upon this throne?" Morgan asked, still gazing at the throne and the power riddled throughout it.

"We will follow you until the end of days. Just as we followed our father for millennia" Michael responded instantly, the others nodding in agreement.

"You will become our God, and in all forms that matter, you will become our father, or at least a new version of him. And with that will come eternal loyalty" Raphael added.

"We will become your blades against evil, your shields against the selfish and envious" Uriel spoke.

"And we will be your messengers to all those that worship you. We will spread your message as those who follow our fathers words, will now follow yours" Gabriel finished, a smile on her face as she gazed at Morgan, who only stared down at the throne for even longer.

"And you all are certain that you are okay with following me? You know that I was born as a devil, right?" Morgan responded, glancing back at them, looking away from the throne for the first time in the last few moments.

"We know, but like we've said before, we don't care. You wouldn't have even been able to enter heaven if you weren't worthy enough to be here. And the fact that fathers throne reacts to your touch is the only indicator we need to allow you to become the new ruler of the Heavens" Michael said simply, a confident smile on his face.

As if he knew that she would be their new ruler. As if he knew that she was going to be the best ruler for them. Even though she had been a devil before, it didn't seem he truly cared about that. Not anymore.

Not when the heavens can regain a proper ruler, one that can sit upon the throne of heaven and lead them to a new dawn, a greater dawn alongside those that dwell in the Underworld.

A dawn that would bring about peace and unity between the two species that used to hate one another so very much.

'These angels are way too trusting of people. It's almost impressive, but it's also a bit worrying' Morgan thought, deciding that she would need to teach these people how to properly tell if someone is lying in the future. Because she could easily be lying to them and they wouldn't even be able to tell.

"...Alright, I guess I'll just have to accept your faith in me. As well as the faith of so many humans on Earth" Morgan said with a soft smile on her face as she looked back at them, their eyes lightening with bright smiles forming on their faces, as they all watched silently as Morgan breathed in deeply.

Moving, she turned towards them, and slowly began to lower herself on the throne of Heaven, one thought on her mind as she did so.

'...Let's see how this goes!'
