Miria let out a long sigh, still panting. She looked around:
The room looked like a battlefield: scattered cushions, overturned candles, scattered clothes, and Asher lying unconscious on the couch, shirtless. Fortunately, nothing compromising had happened. Well… almost.
She closed her eyes for a moment.
— Heavens… what is this evening again?
She stood up, blushing, and grabbed her shirt and skirt, dressing hastily while cursing through her teeth.
"That's why you don't mix magic and hormones," she grumbled.
She turned to Asher, still lying there, looking strangely peaceful despite the disaster he had caused a few minutes earlier.
"If you weren't unconscious, I'd send you straight into a wall," she muttered.
She hesitated for a moment, stared at him, then sighed.
— Tsss… look at that, mister seductive vampire. Even when you're asleep, you look like you're posing for a poster.
She looked for her jacket, picked it up, to put it back on him.
—And to think that I almost...no, no! We don't even think about it, Miria!
After giving him
— There you go… at least you won't look like a stripper.
Then, using a little spell, she gently levitated him to her room.
"Levita dormiens," she murmured tiredly.
Asher floated limply to the bed, and Miria placed him gently there before tucking the covers over him.
- So. Sleep well, little demon.
She gave him a look mixed with suspicion and tenderness in spite of herself, then left the room.
In the kitchen, Kira and Alix were already seated at the table, an innocent look on their faces.
Miria entered, walking heavily, her hair still messy despite her efforts to fix it.
"Hey," Kira said with a teasing smile, "the survivor is back!
"And still just as disheveled," Alix added, giggling.
Miria glared at them.
— Very funny.
- SO ? Alix asked, her eyes sparkling. Did it go…well?
— If "good" means "catastrophic", then yes.
Kira rested her chin on her hand.
—And did the potion work?
— Exactly no! Miria replied, exasperated. He drank it all, and yet… nothing!
Alix snapped her fingers.
—Have you recited the counter-spell formula?
Miria froze.
—… What formula?
— You know, the one you have to say before the desire spell wears off, otherwise the potion only partially neutralizes the effects.
A silence. Then Miria slapped her head.
— By all the stars! I forgot!
Kira chuckled.
— Honestly, with treatment like Asher's, I think I would have forgotten my own name too.
Alix burst out laughing.
- Exactly ! Just seeing him pin you on the couch, I was in apnea!
Miria slowly raised her eyes, tomato red.
— Wait… what do you mean "to see him"?
Kira and Alix exchanged a look.
- Oh oh... whispered Kira.
—How long have you been there? asked Miria in an icy tone.
"Um… for a long time," Kira replied with a tight smile.
— For a long time?! Miria repeated, her eyes wide.
— Yes, why? Alix said innocently.
—So after giving me the potion… you didn't leave?
"No," Alix admitted. We wanted to know if you would be able to resist Asher's charm.
Kira nodded, very serious.
—After all, you just vaguely explained to us what he was doing to you without much detail. So we wanted to see with our own eyes… to understand.
Miria was speechless.
— To… understand?!
Kira continued:
—And now I understand perfectly. Just seeing you moan and arch your back, it was clear that he was gifted with touch.
—KIRA!!!
— Well what? It's true ! Even I wouldn't have resisted! This boy is a weapon of mass destruction.
— Oh me neither! Alix adds. Honestly, just looking at him made me want to shout "me too!" Why the fuck hasn't Bryan come back yet?! I need some comfort here!
—Relax, Kira laughed, I'm sure—
She didn't have time to finish. Miria's icy expression made her turn pale.
"So… let's wrap it up," Miria said in a dangerously soft voice. You… were there… seeing everything… and you did nothing?! You left me alone, to deal with a vampire in heat, while you laughed like two kids?!
— We couldn't interrupt your sweet treat-
Kari crushed his foot.
— Ouch! But are you crazy or—
She stopped when she too saw Miria's murderous look.
Miria, very calmly:
— You are. DEAD.
— Oh no, not yet! Kira shouted, jumping out of her chair.
- COURSE ! yelled Alix, following her, bursting out laughing.
Alix stumbled, Kari grabbed a spoon as an improvised weapon, and Miria screamed.
—Ventus Furiosa!
A gust of wind burst out, overturning the cups, blowing the hair of the two culprits.
—It's not fair! shouted Alix, dying of laughter as she ran towards the corridor.
—You shouldn't have stayed! Miria shouted, chasing after her.
— We promise we'll help you next time! Kari shouted between bursts of laughter.
—There will be no next time! Miria roared.
The chase started again.
The spells were flying: Ventus Captura!, Aqua Fulgura!, Tempesta mini!
The kitchen was transformed into a comical battlefield: curtains torn off, chairs overturned, a broom spinning in the air.
— Come back here, you dirty pests!
- Never ! Alix shouted, hiding behind the counter.
— We love you Miria, but not to the point of death! Kira added, laughing.
A vase exploded in the corner, smoke spread, and in the midst of the chaos, Miria's voice rang out:
— I WARN YOU… NO ONE WILL GET OUT OF THIS ALIVE!
In the darkness, Kira whispered to Alix:
— She's adorable when she's angry.
—Or demonic. I lean towards demonic.
In the distance, Miria growled:
— I'm warning you… I'm going to get revenge!
The two spies exchanged a look, then chuckled softly.
"Totally… worthy of a magical sitcom," Kari whispered.
— Yes, Alix concluded, wiping away a tear of laughter, but what a spectacle!
And the laughter began again, mingling with the cries, the spells and the echo of the disaster which shook the entire house.
Their chase ended in total chaos: overturned furniture, charred curtains and uncontrollable laughter. Out of breath, Miria ends up collapsing on the sofa, her hair disheveled. Kari and Alix, trembling with laughter, dropped down next to her.
Kari, catching her breath:
— Honestly, I think we just witnessed the best magical comedy of the year.
Miria, glaring at them:
—Keep talking, and I'll turn your mouth into a frog.
The two burst out laughing again.
Despite her anger, Miria couldn't help but smile a little.
