The Royal Palace of Rovamer was awfully silent, with the hallways dimly lit and casting scarcely any light, for no one had expected the morning to be so dewy and foggy all so suddenly, followed by a sudden snow fall. There was no sunshine in sight, and it seemed like the rest of the day would go the same. As if in mourning.
Luidic stood on the parapet of his chamber, staring up at the cloudy sky as he stretched out his palm, watching a little snowflake land in the middle only to melt away as quickly as it had come.
"You seem deep in thought, honey."
Luidic did not turn around, knowing that his wife Rowanda would join him on the parapet eventually. Join him she did, coming to stand beside him as she glanced at his solemn face, then up at the sky that he was staring at. "What has you so deep in thought?"
"It's the first snow fall of the year."
Rowanda pursed her lips, unsure whether it held some meaning or not, so she silently waited for him to go on, which she knew he would.
