I was peacefully in my sleep when I saw in my dream that, there has been a flood in our house and I was drowning, but unfortunately I woke up in a grasp and saw that grandma has just poured a bucket filled with water on me.... just to wake me up. I know that's a new style but she is different. She smiled at me like she has already accomplished her task.
When I changed my clothes and got downstairs, I saw Cha-cha Jameel wearing two different slippers and reading newspaper upside down. Chachi was in the kitchen with mom making some parathas...(Parathas are one of the most traditional foods in India) the parathas filled the air with it's smell, and mom was busy making tea from one hand scolding Farha from the other hand.
"Why are you busy on your phone this early in the morning, put it down and eat your breakfast. NOW... or else I'll boil it with the noodles." mom said to Farha in a scolding tone.
"Ammi I'll just eat after I take another aesthetic picture of my parathas..." Farha replied to mom, still busy in taking pictures.
"Hey Zaid Let's go out" Adeeb said in a rush.
"Why, I just woke up" I replied all confused.
"I need buy butter and some eggs or else both us won't be able to eat our breakfast." Adeeb said.
"When did we ran out of eggs???.." I asked confused because we just ordered more eggs a few days earlier.
"Cha-cha Jameel ate almost eight eggs just now, because he and dad both was betting on whom can eat more eggs...or else the looser will be called a chicken toe, but now both of them are puking because of over eating." Adeeb replied in almost a whispering tone.
"Fine .... lets go" I said calmly.
When we reached a nearby convenience store we started to check for eggs. That's where I saw a book named How to live with peace. I got curios and thought that may be this book can solve my problems and I opened it and on the first page it was written ( Are you reading this because you wants me to tell you how to find peace) and I turn to the next page to know more but there was written (I don't know.....idiot) at that moment I wished to burn that book right there, but I calmed myself down and focused myself on finding eggs. What we bought was lot's of ramen.... and not eggs.
We got back home and ate Some ramen and lot's of scolding from mom, and as I thought our relatives left that day. They had to go in a wedding of their distant relative... wait.... doesn't that sound funny... relatives going to there relatives wedding.... well lets begun our rest of the day.
Mom was not in a good mood because our house has became a mess and she didn't intend to clean it alone. She told us that whoever cleans the house will get a special gift from her but that gift was still a secret. I thought it could be a dish or an ice-cream maybe, but that was just my imaginations.
"First tell me what that special gift is then I'll help in cleaning." Adeeb said crossing his arms.
"I can't help in cleaning I just got my nails done yesterday, they'll get dirty if dust got into them.. eww..." Farha said with a disgusted expression.
"I think Adeeb is right, first tell us our benefit." I replied agreeingly.
"The gift is a wish, whatever you want will be given to you...." Mom said that, looking at dad at the end.
"Oh no my precious money..... I won't let you go sweety." dad said hugging his wallet.
"Sounds nice... I am in." I agreed confidently because I needed to buy a new game console.
"Then I'll help a little..." Farha said pouting.
We all wore aprons and started to clean the house top to bottom. It took half of our day to get it done. We were all tired and sat on the sofa like crashing airplanes.
"It was more tough then I thought." Farha said exhaustedly.
"What did you thought we'll be doing make-up....." I replied to her annoyingly.
"I am tired, I won't be able to cook tonight... let's order takeout's tonight." Mom said loosing her hope in cooking.
"I'll order biriyani." dad replied instantly.
"I am looking forward to it." I said without any hesitation.
"I want an ice-cream too." Adeeb said raising his hand.
"Me too" I said with sparkling eyes.
We ate a lot of biriyani and ice-cream later that night and enjoyed our dinner time conversation happily. When it was time for bed me and Adeeb was in our room getting our beds ready to sleep when Farha came into our room and said. "Let's listen to ghost stories."
Both of us agreed because we all loved to listen to ghost stories and ate chips with it, we got inside a bed sheet and turned off the lights and took a flashlight under the bed sheet and started the videos and listened to many stories. When we were done with that, Farha got scared because now she had to go to her room to sleep but she was too scared to sleep alone after hearing those stories.
"I don't wanna sleep alone." Farha said in a scared tone and almost in a whisper.
"You were the one who wanted to listen to ghost stories." I said teasing her.
"You should have thought that earlier that you still have to sleep alone in your room."Adeeb said almost lecturing her.
"Ok fine, fine you can sleep here but you'll be sleeping on the floor, I'll give you a mattress and a blanket." I said dramatically, because she doesn't have any other choice.
"Fine but don't tell mom about this she'll definitely scold me." she said to us in a pleasing tone.
We both agreed, after all we were also involved in it because we were the one's to agree to her idea of listening to ghost stories. That night non of was able to sleep..... I guess we weren't that brave.
