Luna Vilka's fingers trembled violently as she shut the door behind her.
She rested her head against the door and started to cry. Softly at first, sobbing into the hard wood, and then harder, with soft wails as her emotions ran deep.
Then she felt someone's hands on her shoulders and immediately turned around, startled.
Her eyes met Ralph's calm brown eyes, ever loving and caring, looking concerned as he drew her in softly for a hug.
He did not say a word, nor did he plan to. He simply patted her back, prompting her to return to sobbing, this time against his chest.
He led her carefully to the bed, where she sat down, his arms wrapped firmly around her while she continued crying, her shoulders shaking with little tremors.
In his arms, she was safe. In her mind, she was already gone.
