Chapter 1 - Ch 2

SaraT's smile widens, revealing teeth that seem just a bit too sharp. "Good," she murmurs, the sound like honey laced with something darker. Her fingers, still cool against your skin, trace the line of your jaw before she tilts your chin up, forcing you to meet her piercing gaze. "You were always meant to be mine."

The chamber around you feels even smaller now, her presence pressing in like a lover's embrace. The scent of roses grows heady, sweet and cloying, filling your lungs with every breath. She steps closer, her lithe body nearly touching yours. Her other hand finds your waist, her grip firm but teasing.

"Since you accept," she purrs, her words a sultry whisper, "it's only fair that I offer you something in return." Her fingers tighten at your waist, pulling you gently toward her.

The space between you dissolves as her body presses against yours. She's softer than you expected, the curve of her form fitting against yours with practiced ease. Her breath is warm against your neck as she inhales deeply, as though committing every detail of you to memory.

"I can give you anything," she breathes, the words vibrating through your body. "Power. Wealth. Knowledge beyond imagining." Her lips brush against your ear as she speaks, sending a shiver through you. "But first..."

Her hand slides up your torso, fingers curling against your chest. The touch burns like ice and fire simultaneously, awakening nerves you didn't know you had. She pulls back just enough to meet your eyes, her own dark with promise and devotion. Then, with impossible ease, her hand passes through your chest.

Shock steals your breath. There is no resistance, no tearing of flesh, only the surreal sensation of something sacred being touched. Her fingers close around your heart, and the world seems to stop. The steady rhythm that had accompanied every moment of your life now beats beneath her fingertips.

As one dark nail drags across its surface; Agony erupts through your body. It is pain beyond pain, vast and incomprehensible, yet strangely distant, as though it belongs to someone else. Golden light spills from beneath her fingers, illuminating the chamber in pulsing waves. The roses lining the walls tremble in response, their petals fluttering despite the still air.

Your soul feels as though it has been thrust into a furnace. Memories flash before your eyes—every triumph, every failure, every forgotten moment blazing through your mind in the span of a heartbeat. You cannot look away from her. Her gaze anchors you, holding you steady while everything else threatens to come apart.

SaraT's expression softens. For the first time, genuine tenderness shines through the terrifying power she wields. Her thumb strokes the surface of your heart almost affectionately, and the jagged wound she created begins to mend. Light races across the damage, weaving it closed faster than thought.

The pain fades, leaving behind an overwhelming warmth that spreads through every corner of your being. You feel stronger, sharper, more alive than ever before. The chamber itself seems brighter, the colors richer, the air filled with sounds you could not hear before.

At last, she withdraws her hand.

Your chest seals itself behind her touch, flesh knitting together seamlessly. Only a single scar remains—dark, twisted, and unmistakable. It rests over your heart like a brand, proof of what has happened and of the bond that now exists between you.

SaraT studies the mark with quiet satisfaction. Her fingertips brush across it one final time, and a faint smile touches her lips. "There," she whispers. "Now no force in this world can mistake who you belong to."
