Time kept ticking as the night went deeper, colder, releasing eeriness that hadn't been written in the history of night creatures. Cloud in the night sky thickens, darkening even more where thunder rumbled signaling for an incoming storm, brewing deadly than anyone could expect. However, it was not only about nature's anger, but it was the night and heavens agreeing over the same thing that was about to touch the earthly ground, and it would start within Skylar.
"Hm…it's about to rain but…" Skylar mumbled, looking up to the darkening sky before whispering with amusement, "…this is different rain for sure."
'It is.'
"Rose." She acknowledged Rose's voice through her mind before wondering, "You felt it too, didn't you? Something crawling under our skin."
'Pretty much, and I'm here to tell you that you don't feel me doesn't mean that I'm not with you.'
"Does it mean…" She was about to guess, but Rose finished it for her.
'Yes, and be careful. You won't be strong enough to deal with Rudolf and his men if they work together.'
"Who says I'm alone?" She grinned, feeling the incoming presence of her husband around the area.
'I know you weren't, but remember Rudolf is after you.'
"I'm a bait, remember? I'm already expecting him to do his worst." She grinned darkly, making Rose inside her head chuckle, but worried too.
'He could kill you.'
"Intend too…" She answered sternly, and Rose sternly wondered.
'And you didn't tell him that?'
"He knew but didn't speak of it. He knew who I am and what I could do for the sake of my peace and my family. I'm a walking nightmare, the one and only infamous Rose Slayer." She answered, clarifying what Vincencio already knew about her hidden plan even without saying anything about it.
'I love it when you speak my language.'
"I know you do." She grinned sinisterly as Rose's laughter died and turned into a sly one, informing her human about their prey's arrival.
'Hm, the prey is here. I'll be out now… It's all yours.'
"See you later, Rose." She said, pretending to look over her watch.
'Same to you, Mutualist.'
Skylar grinned to herself as Rose faded into the background, making her lethal once again as she readied her lace mask to fall over her eyes.
"Hubby, what's your coordination?" She quickly left a telepathic message directly to her husband as she began seeing a few shadows coming to her spot.
'At your six if you face south from the BTP's left corner.'
"That's good, you're near because here they come and make sure to be hidden until it's time." She responded, grinning before adding sinisterly, "This is going to be fun luring him in."
'I'm in my position, so are our men.'
"Good. Let's play and lure." She grinned sinisterly, and here they came, visible and pretty much amusing Skylar – aka the Rose Slayer.
"I've got your message, that's why I came here," Rudolf said, as he walked with confidence, but to Rose Slayer, he was bleeding to death – not physically, but his soul was. Then he added, saying politely, "And I hope you don't mind that I brought my men here."
"Then I should bring mine too." She teased, but Rudolf's men growled without respect, which to her ears was foul, now that she's a Luna-Alpha of their pack.
"Don't lie to us, bitch. They were always watching this lot." One of the rogues spat smugly, making her shrug her shoulders.
"Hm, maybe because I owned this land and built a park here." She stated the obvious, making them piss.
"What's the use of the park near a prison?" Another one spat smugly, making her sigh at their literal stupidity, thinking of the reason why she didn't agree to doing business with them in the first place.
"Who says that the park is for everyone to use?" She refuted coldly, making them frown.
"Meaning?" another nomad wondered, making her chuckle.
"How slow your men were, Mr. Rudolf Strange." She said as she turned to the quiet Rudolf, observing, since that's what a doctor would do.
"WHY YOU BITCH! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU MYSELF!" One snapped, roaring, attempting to attack her, but immediately stopped in his tracks when a sudden bullet landed between his feet.
"Hm, put a leash on your pup, Sir, before my men put bullets on their heads. They never miss a single shot." She said to Rudolf, not caring if the rogues and nomads bark on their spot.
"I'm not controlling them. They were doing this on their own, and besides, I'm grateful because they got you for me." Rudolf replied calmly but cautiously, around the calmness and unreadable façade Rose Slayer was wearing.
"Really? Since when? Since you think you made SaiRus Corps fall? Oh, please, it's still standing." Rose Slayer chuckled with sarcasm as the sky crumbled, making her lace mask cover her eyes without being noticed.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! WE ALL WITNESS FREDRIC RUSCO FALLS ALONG WITH HIS COMPANY HE'S – !" One of them roared, defending what they thought was real
"He's busy with his family." She cut them off, telling them the truth that his brother was having a nice evening with his family.
"What?" One nomad reacted surprisingly.
"LIAR!" But another one reacted dismissively, making her sigh.
"Rudolf, can my men take care of them since you came for me, and I want to discuss something with you, too?" She sighed, giving up on talking nonsense with rogues and nomads.
"You knew…" With narrowed eyes, he reacted, but she didn't let him finish it.
"I met them before in my company, and they were rude. I hope it's you that I'm doing business with, not these pathetic pups." She spat sinisterly, pushing the rogues and nomads to lose their control.
"ENOUGH YOU BITCH!" One roared and attacked her, but nothing bad happened to her.
However, before he could even make a step from their spot, he fell down, lifeless, bleeding from their temple. He was not healing because silver nitrate killed the wolf instantly, surprising them, particularly Rudolf.
"Oh my. That's a nice shot." She chuckled, clapping her hands as her clothes began shifting magically into her hunting dark gear, showing her night self. The infamous Rose Slayer, making them lose themselves in fear.
"WE'RE GOING TO KILL YOU!" Another roar happened, and it charged at her.
"Aren't you going to help them?" She asked Rudolf in a split second. Rudolf remained impassive and stood on his ground.
"Like I said, I'm not controlling them. It's their decision." He replied without remorse about the rogues and nomads who worked with him before adding, "We don't trust each other anyway."
She knew it, making her grin deepen, but the night sky was getting ready to pour as it gave a last warning.
"I like you already." She admitted, but immediately turned into a grimace, and all of Rudolf's men fell on the ground lifeless, bleeding from the different bullets that landed on their heads, silver nitrate for wolves, and sodium nitrate burning the vampires. Then she mumbled, saying, "But sadly, it's late."
"It's never too late." He responded.
"Then what is it you want from me? I might be able to give them as soon as I can." She asked, sighing as she faked her surrender.
"Then show and give me my wife's remains. Don't lie because I knew you heard it from your mother, and you're the key for me to retrieve it." He answered sternly, guessing already what her mother told her once, but she was not giving him satisfactory answers.
"If that's true, can you tell me why? Give me a legit reason for me to agree with you." She played with words, asking for a reason that could give her in. But technically, it's not even close to that.
"It's my right." He said, but that was not the thing she was dying to hear from him.
"That's it? That's all? Then maybe you won't have it." She said coldly, disappointed by his response, making Rudolf twitch.
"I'm not foolish like them and give me what I want or I'll kill your daughter and your entire family." He started losing his composure and threatened her. But she saw it already through him because, without noticing, something was already wrapping his body even since he stepped into the construction site. And Rose Slayer loved every bit of it.
"Be my guess because the return favor is already worse than you already stepping on." She dared him, not afraid of what he could do, catching him off guard.
"What are you talking about? You think I won't harm your loved ones?" He asked in disbelief, but Rose Slayer began stepping forward to meet him halfway. But instead of answering him, she pressed something sensitive in him.
"The more you fail, the more you'll lose her." She said seriously, catching him confused, and she liked it before proceeding, taunting, "Do you get it, or do you want to feel and remember everything that put you here in this position in the first place?"
"I…" He was about to say something, but she cut him off and said something to make him waver.
"Rudolf Strange was now a broken and mateless vampire doctor because of the deed he could not meet." She stated flatly, pressing something in Rudolf that he doesn't understand.
"What are you –" he was about to ask, but she wouldn't let him.
"Talking about? You knew exactly about it because you're the one who killed her in the first place. My mother was just keeping her from being tainted by you…" With truth behind sarcasm, Rose Slayer spat at him, angering the man, but she wasn't done, continuing, "…and look at you, knowing about something you don't understand why you need her remains."
"I LL BRING HER BACK TO LIFE. THAT'S WHY I M LOOKING FOR HER REMAINS AND GET ANSWERS FROM THE QUESTIONS HAUNTING ME FOR YEARS." He snapped, roaring in fury as he readied himself to force the answer out of her. "YOU AND YOUR MOTHER HIDE THOSE ANSWERS FROM ME! AND I WILL NOT STOP TILL I GET IT! TILL I GET HER BACK TO ME!"
"Oh boy…I pulled the trigger…" She gasped, faking because she already saw it coming and she was ready, saying, "But neh, I expect that."
Rudolf charged at her, and instead of dodging it, Rose Slayer let him hit her. She stumbled very badly on the construction site, slightly breaking a few posts at the base before landing like a bouncing ball on the uneven grassy ground. They were further into the entrance of the lot, and Rose Slayer loved where she was.
"TELL ME WHERE HER REMAINS WERE?!" Rudolf roared in fury as he kept beating Rose Slayer without remorse, demanding, "ANSWER ME! WHERE'S MY WIFE'S REMAINS!"
But on the other hand, Rose Slayer let him beat her up. She was preparing something through her blood splattering around the ground as she ensured that every drop swirled around him unnoticed.
"Then don't keep falling, repent. Admit your fault and be sincere in apologizing." She chuckled, taunting him with instructions that seemed to fall into his ears in the wrong way. "Then scream your heart's desire."
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCKING SHIT ABOUT WHAT YOU WERE SAYING AND TELL ME WHERE THE FUCK HER REMAINS WERE!" He neglected her words and still demanded what he wanted, which the sky couldn't hold, and started pouring.
"Are you not gonna repent, Rudolf?" She asked calmly as he pulled her collar closer, not caring how soaked they were.
"NEVER!" He growled before punching her in the gut.
Rose Slayer stumbled backwards, coughing blood, but Rudolf wasn't done; he gave her multiple combos that she managed to either block, meet at the same time, or dodge. She let him release his fury, but she fought him with the determination to keep her words to Sophia and bring him to her. However, she must do something about him. She must hit him deeply, to the core; he never dared to touch her again.
"I pity you." She whispered sadly, faking her frozen stunt, before luring him on, removing her lace mask. But only to meet the fully awakened Skylar Saison-Monsour that he didn't expect to meet.
