Lena didn't answer. She simply stared at Ethan, her expression caught somewhere between confusion and disbelief.
"You... you're one of us?"
Ethan rolled his eyes. "If I say no, are you actually going to believe me? Why do you people keep insisting I'm a Soulweaver?" He was exhausted. All he wanted was for someone to tell him what exactly he was doing wrong so he could fix it and be done with this nonsense.
"I... I believe you!" Lena nodded solemnly, as though she'd just reached an important conclusion.
Ethan was about to respond, but she continued before he could get a word in.
"Who was your master? I can't believe there are other branches of our sect scattered throughout the Western Wastes. You must have suffered terribly all these years. Don't worry. Once this is over, I'll ask my mentor to take you back to the Central Dominion."
