Chapter 10 - [ CHAPTER IX (9) ]

[ Chapter IX (9): "THE MIND BOGGLING, EXTRAORDINARY, SIZE OF HOGWARTS" ]

In Hogwarts, to be precise, all around it. Which actually didn't do anything to narrow down the scope, but anyways. Students could be seen either studying, exploring the giant sized castle, chilling around, or even talking to one another.

Like let's say a group of Hufflepuff Students with bags sling around their shoulders, near the entrance to the castle; talking about something relating to potion materials. [ "No-no, you don't get it Kathy, you don't add Gillyweed without cutting it up first, it'll lessen the effect of the potion." ]

[ "How should I know, for all I care, cut or not cut is still the same." ] The shortest of the group, a blonde haired girl, pouted as she raised her arms in mock surrender. [ "Still, that 5 points off of our House still hurts. Damn you Professor Evil!" ]

Professor Evil = Professor Snape, the Head of House for Slytherin, and is someone who is openly biased, favoring his own House more than the other three. That evil persona of his didn't end there, it's just staring, that man is also like a bat— cold as one.

He could make a stone cry solely because that thing has no hands, in turn not being able to brew any potions. But admit that same said stone into Slytherin, and he'll find a way to award that inanimate object with House Points. Like... 15 Points at the least, which is why they hate him.

[ "Oh, don't even get me started on Professor Evil." ]

[ "Why does Hogwarts even bother to hire someone like that? Foul personality, acts like a vampire, and is openly favoring his own House!" ]

[ "Shh, quit down, Jacob. Yes, I agree, but the guy is still great at potions; is someone who actually knows effective methods off the books, but yes, nasty personality." ] The calmest of the group, Tywin which is also the tallest, then spoke out de-escalating the hatred.

Which worked, as his group of friends calmled down slightly, thinking about the positives rather than the negatives. But then, even Tywin remembered something, about the essay he worked hard on for days, not sleeping, not eating, proofreading it all to perfection.

Then when he submitted it on the deadline, he only received a mere 89 out of 100. Sure, it does suck, especially because he hoped for something like 98 for the detailed research he did about the importance of proper boiling procedures.

He was ready to accept it, shrug it off, but then he was slapped by the realization that someone who turned in a mere 3inch essay received a 95 merely because they are from Slytherin. In comparison, he wrote a 15inch long essay. [ "Yeah, still, I believe the man should be hanged for his wrongdoings. ] So he continued, reigniting his friends spirit of hatred.

All 6 of them looked at one another, silently nodding and completely in sync, as they then raised their dominant hand in the air, forming a fist. [ "Hanged!" ] Shouting in unity, loud, though in comparison to the people outside, not that loud.

[ "Hey, uhh, can I ask what time it is?" ] Unbeknownst to them, a single Slytherin Student noticed a watch strapped on the wrist of Tywin, which is on his left wrist as he is left handed. Funnily enough, he used to wear it on his right wrist, but it didn't felt right and instead shifted to wearing it on his dominant hand— an unusual practice on watch wear etiquette.

[ "Oh sure." ] The identify of the person unknown to him, Tywin answered back delightly, as all Hufflepuff should. And helped, as he glanced at his watch; not noticing the slow realization, and complexion of his friends, all wide-eyed.

[ "The time is, erm, 2:30... 2:33, yeah, that's the-" ] He glanced to his right and noticed the friendly smile of another student— unfamiliar to him, as he is merely a second year student, not at all versed in comparison to others who are in higher grades.

But what he did noticed caused him to stop midsentence, as he then facepalmed himself inwardly. Because you see, colors have meaning; at the very least red, blue, yellow, and green does. As he himself and his group of friends wear yellow on certain parts of their clothing.

Why? Precisely to make it easier to identify which House one came from. He wears a yellow-black patterned necktie himself, and a clock which has gold-like yellow linen on some parts, a ribbon if they like for some girls. And oh, also the fact that they have emblems sewed on the left side of their front cloaks' which is required by school.

Hufflepuff have a badger. Ravenclaw have a eagle. Gryffindor have a lion. And finally, Slytherin has a serpent, a snake on their emblem. And the last one is what he sees when he looks at the clothing of the senior besides him— though noticably skinny, the man is still taller than him. Tall-tall type of tall.

Taller, as in 2-3 heads taller than him, the tallest o the group. And in remembering what he and his group of students said, did he fear for his life, especially because the insult was directed to the Head of House of this said other student.

[ "I-I uhh." ] Earlier they we're happy to backbite Professor Snape and his immoral ways, precisely because no one was listening. In Hogwarts which is huge, students are little in comparison. But now... they didn't know that someone was listening, a Slytherin! Well-known snitches.

[ "Thank you, thank you!" ] Torrin who noticed them watch him both wide-eyed and mouth agape couldn't help but chuckle. He agreed with what they said, that is because he knows more than the usual student why Professor Snape acts the way he is— in the books it's just plain favoritism cranked to the highest degree, in the movies... Same, but could be justified as a way to easily hide as a double-spy.

Oh dear, book Snape is... another type of petty evil, due to his unresolved trauma and lost love that is. So in short, he hopes that this universe has the movie Snape, instead of the other. Because even him doesn't want to talk to that original version, [ "You guys saved me a great deal, if only you guys had known how long I've been trying to find out the time, then you all would have found it funny." ]

[ "D-did you hear ev-everything, sir?" ] One of the Hufflepuffs, a girl named Katherine Hughes, spoke up, stuttering all the while.

[ "Absolutely, I did, and I 100% agree with you all. That man should be hanged somewhere." ] The book version, i.e. the original. Not the adaptation, that was actually played well by Alan Rickman himself; to the point there's that type of FanFics...

[ "W-what?" ] The 7 Hufflepuff Students either yelled out or mumbled the word in unison, confusion written all over their face as they all watched the unnamed, unknown senior Slytherin shrug his shoulder, as if only stating a fact.

[ "Yeah-yeah, that's the truth. Anyways, thank you kids." ] He wave pass them as he then exited the castle, not at all bothered by the fact that he just blew up their mind. Or made them see Slytherin Students in a new light, or something.

To be frank, he has yet to stay here for a long time, so he doesn't know what kind of identity each House has on each student's mind. Though he knows the general identity of each House, he doesn't know more than that.

[ GREENHOUSE ]

[ "Jesus, this place sure is big..." ] Panting, out of breath, and with a shaky leg. Torrin could be seen out of place in comparison to other Hogwarts Students which either are walking pass, or are talking to one another, chilling in one place. Clearly in their natural state, which Torrin is not.

He walked pass the cobblestone steps, while admiring the trees and flowers around. Contrary to what J.K. Rowling wrote, this place isn't that, as this is more grandiose than what a pen could desribe. And less so that a movie could adapt.

To be precise, the Hogwarts he is walking on doesn't feel like the book version of Hogwarts as that didn't describe everything. Nor is this the movie version of Hogwarts, as that is very lacking. No, this feels like a new Hogwarts, one that isn't contained inside of someone's book; a world on it's own.

Alive, breathing, and is filled with history

[ GREENHOUSE 1 ]

[ GREENHOUSE 2 ]

[ GREENHOUSE 3: CLASS STARTING IN 14 MINUTES FOR FIFTH YEAR STUDENTS (HUFFLEPUFF & SLYTHERIN) ]

Without him even trying to intentionally find out about it, the System just up and up, showing him another feature of it. As a giant-sized floating words appear on his peripheral, the last one catching his attention, as that one is his class.

[ "Isn't that neat?" ] He mumbles, as he then makes his way to the entrance of Greenhouse 3, careful as to not damage any plants along the way. [ "At the very least, you aren't totally useless, yeah." ]

[ ---------- ] [ ---------- ] [ ---------- ] [ ---------- ]

[ FUN FACT: The difference between each Greenhouses is that, the further you go, the more exotic and dangerous plants they contain. For example, Greenhouse 1 doesn't have anything dangerous, so it's used as the classroom for first-years. Greenhouse 3 meanwhile is more dangerous, thus being used as the classroom for second-yeard and up. Greenhouse 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, Outskirt Greenhouses presumably has other exotic plants cultivated by Hogwarts, for use as potion materials, and for hobby. ]
