"What about your family?" she asked. "Even if my parents agree… what if your family makes things difficult for me? What if they refuse to accept me as their daughter-in-law?"
Peter smiled at her question, warmth blooming in his chest.
'She's thinking about our future,' he realized, genuinely happy. He reached out, held her hand, and spoke gently.
"You'll never have to worry about that. We won't be living with my family at all."
Adriana's eyes widened in surprise.
Peter's gaze softened, a hint of melancholy flickering within.
"Growing up, there was always an elder brother who got all the attention. Then there was my stepsister, she was the only one who truly looked out for me. I've always thought of her as my real sister. As for my stepmother… she constantly provoked my father against me. I endured it."
