Chapter 1 - Magic Man

In the dead of a snowy night, a bleeding girl laid on the filthy and abnormally silent alleyway. She was just a finger away from a garbage dump.

And somehow, that very cold and smelly dump had felt better than the world she had lived in for nearly her entire life. Her bleeding had been caused by a child gang that she had been a part of since the age of 8 and attempted to leave after learning she would become a slave to some rich noble on her 18th birthday at 17.

And yet, this cold confining place seems like a nice breather from reality. Even death seemed quite soothing, at least she would be free then.

But she hated it, 'I joined those punks so I could live. But the only way for me to get what it is I desire is that I must die?' She could puke if she had the strength too.

The girl, Emma, Laid there and for what seemed like the first time she had, smiled. Not joy or glee, but her face contorted so much it had looked like she smiled.

But then,

Thwap!

So suddenly, Emma had been attacked with a silver suitcase, hitting her in the stomach.

'Can't they leave me to just die peacefully at least.' Emma thought as she checked the new round of attackers.

But to her surprise it was a complete stranger, an oddly clothed one at that. Wearing a cloak with countless patches, glasses torn in half, and 2 different types of hats split and attached into one odd shaped one.

He was either too broke to afford normal clothing, or rich enough to jump into weird aesthetics.

"Whoops, my bad there child." The odd clothed man said as he retrieved his luggage. "For my mistake, I'll fix you up."

Snap! The odd clothed man snapped, her skin seemed to fix itself back to place, and blood that fell into the freezing snow returned to her body as well.

A miracle! A miracle!

Emma's face deconstructed itself to show as much shock as it could. "How?" Emma said out loud by mistake.

"I'll explain it to you later, but first…" The odd clothed man helped Emma stand on her boneless legs.

"Do you have a wish?" The man offered with a smile, one that disgusted her.

"A wish? Oh I get it now… the heavens, Do you truly only wish to take pity on me now?" Emma said frantically. "What do you want from me, magic man?"

"Nothing." The man's tone changed in a deep direction.

"Do you consider me to be stupid high class bum? If you give me something it's natural that you would want to take something from me as well, am I wrong." Emma responded with a cold front as the now healed body stood on its own.

"Think of what you wish for my acts of 'kindness' but to be honest I personally don't want anything from you, but my master does."

He asked again, "What do you wish for?"

"..." Emma remained silent with skeptical eyes.

"Nothing then? Oh well." The man said as he left with his suitcase.

"I wish for freedom." Emma responded with a ragged voice.

"From what? Disaster, illness, people, or perhaps life?" The man instantly returned without a second thought.

"Weakness, as you could see I nearly died because I'm weak, I couldn't live a normal life because I'm weak. And my parents died to a bunch of 10 year olds with guns because I, am weak. So make me like you magic man, grant me those powers of yours if you can." Emma said.

"Hmm, that's almost perfect for me!" the odd clothed man said with his cheerful tone once again, "For me to grant you this wish, it will be simple. First hold my hand."

She looked at the dd clothed man with a raised eyebrow but had done what he instructed.

"Second, prepare for interdimensional travel!" The odd clothed man said with a snap of his fingers.

Bang!

The fabric of existence had been cut to a small hole in front of the two. It was a hole filled with nothing, and as dark as the emptiness of space.

Without even a moment of thought, the magic man had pulled her into the rift. And just when she thought she would reach her end, her feet touched not the nothingness of space, but rather soft but sharp grass.

Throughout the entire thing she had her eyes open, remaining cold, but no longer uncaring. She was wonderfully astounded with the grass, the drifting purple clouds, and the two suns one blue and the other red shining down upon them.

"Third, survive assimilating around 2 lifetimes of memories in your world into your tiny fragile brain!." The Magic Man shouted once more, as he snapped a giant humanoid otter in front of them in the grass plain.

"W-wait." Emma said, as this sudden news was a bit too much for even her.

But that didn't seem to matter to him in the slightest.

Snap!

The world around spinned, the sky and the earth converged with each other to make a new one.

Suddenly and surprisingly Emma had been in a alleyway with roads and walls made of blue stone.

She saw a man and help his wife give birth to a child in an alleyway. She was a bit intrugided, and confused by the sudden change. But she knew she was just in the memories of that beast the magic man had put infront of her so she didn't panic at first.

'But of course he did say there was a possibility of death here. I can't seem to move my body aswell, I'm just forced to watch the memories of that baby.'

Years pass,

Emma stood between a toddler and her parents playing games in a cardboard box house, the three of them had been living quite well. But Emma herself wasn't sure if she was fine herself, her mind had started to hurt a bit over the years.

Years pass and slowly herself and the girl she's been watching viewpoints slowly fused with one another.

Her mind felt like she was about to explode, but she could endure.

Meanwhile the child's memories she's been watching had started a life of crime, at least in her world.
