To gain so much sync from just one book... he had never heard a Reader achieve anything like this. But then again, he was one of the only people to kill a Breaker, more so as a reader.
How the Codex rewarded sync was quite complicated. From what he learned from his teacher, it went like this.
From a reader book, you gained two sync, and it went up by one for each class. That number was multiplied by the knowledge; for him, it was Godspawn, the eighth rank, and so it was multiplied by eight.
