Jamal stood in front of the bathroom mirror with a towel hanging around his neck as he buttoned the sleeve of his shirt.
The warm water from his shower had helped a little with the exhaustion in his body, but not enough.
He still felt tired.
The kind of tired that settled deep inside the bones.
Too much had been happening in his life lately and he felt like he was always yet to physically recover from one before he was thrust into the next.
And now he was preparing to leave Westend already.
He was yet to give Dawn a call. He planned to do so once he was dressed and ready to leave for the airstrip so they could talk on his way.
His phone rang on the cabinet.
He picked it up immediately thinking it was Dawn, but smiled all the same when he saw Tom's name.
"Hello, my love," Jamal greeted sweetly as he picked up.
"This isn't Dawn," Tom replied, assuming Jamal hadn't checked the caller's identity.
"I know that baby," Jamal said with a grin.
