Chapter 697 - Elyonari's Adventure (10): Jack and the Beanstalk [The True Story of Vasreveilder]

At that point my brain had reached a very reasonable conclusion. We were missing several very important chapters of context. So, I raised my hand.

"Okay, stop."

Veneri and Elyonari both looked at me. Griselda turned her head as well. I floated a little higher and pointed directly at the goose.

"You, start from the beginning. We three are clearly operating with information that is either incomplete, outdated or dramatically misinterpreted, and I would really appreciate it if someone explained why a fairy tale goose is suddenly talking about cosmic domains and ancient races."

Elyonari nodded immediately.

"Yes. We are very confused."

Griselda stared at us before she groaned. Again, hearing a goose groan is deeply unsettling. She ruffled her golden feathers slightly before looking back at us.

"Vasreveilder really is vague. Fine. Do you know Vasreveilder's history?"

Veneri nodded slowly. "I know the summarized version."

"Then tell it."

Veneri leaned against one of the treasure chests while thinking for a moment. Then he began speaking.

"Vasreveilder was originally from another planet, which is the original homeland of the Aeterium. He was exiled from his home. He wandered space for years, traveling in a massive refugee ship filled with displaced civilizations and his Omniscient. They eventually reached Spheraphase. When Vasreveilder arrived, Spheraphase already had several Supreme Entities governing it."

Griselda listened quietly.

"He built the Hidden Citadel, which is a massive multi realm that existed separately from the world."

"That's where the Transmigrators live," I added.

"Yes."

The Hidden Citadel wasn't exactly a secret anymore. It was a massive multi-realm nexus where beings from other worlds lived and operated. Veneri continued summarizing.

"He also created a governance system. He selected individuals called Reniatsus who are rulers assigned to oversee specific realms."

The Reniatsus are powerful figures who managed entire territories under the Citadel's structure. That much was obvious.

"The Supreme Entities of Spheraphase observed everything he did and eventually, they elevated him to Supreme Entity status."

Griselda nodded again.

"Yes."

That part of the story was not widely known. The mysterious exile from another planet had somehow risen to become one of the most powerful beings in Spheraphase.

"After that, something went wrong. His Omniscient along with several other Supreme Entities who existed apart from the World Tree and the World itself somehow caused Krepsunas to enter the world."

I frowned slightly. That part of history had always been… controversial. The Krepsunas were essentially cosmic parasites. They are creatures that devoured realms, civilizations and sometimes even reality itself.

"They came through a realm connected to the Hidden Citadel and that started the war. The Transmigrators fought them and eventually Vasreveilder sacrificed himself."

The room became quiet. Even Griselda lowered her head slightly.

"He created barriers around each realm to protect them from Krepsunas invasion and he died maintaining those barriers."

Silence lingered in the treasure room before Griselda spoke again.

"That was an excellent summary but that's the problem."

We all looked at her. She hopped down from the pile of coins and walked slowly across the floor.

"That story, is what history depicts. It's a summary of what he did but it barely explains who he actually was."

Veneri's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"

Griselda lifted her head proudly.

"Vasreveilder was not just a Supreme Entity. He was the strongest being in Spheraphase. To become a Supreme Entity as a Nexus is nearly impossible."

Veneri frowned. "I know that part."

Nexuses are rare beings capable of controlling massive forces of existence but becoming a Supreme Entity required something more.

"For a Nexus to ascend to Supreme Entity status, they must be approved by a Primordial and two existing Supreme Entities which makes Vasreveilder even more extraordinary. He was approved by the Creation Primordial itself and the two Supreme Entities who approved him were Spheraphase itself and the World Tree. So after becoming a Supreme Entity, his power increased dramatically. His very existence began influencing the planet. He created the domain of Spheraphase."

"What?"

We both said this out of shock.

"He created Mopheria, the realm of the First Generation Deities but that realm was incomplete. But the most important part of the story happened later."

"..."

One day, Vasreveilder met with Natas, the only male Omniscient in the known universe."

That alone made the situation strange. Omniscients are already extremely rare. A male one is practically unheard of. That's why when we met Natas for the first time after Darling finished the trials to enter Minafallen, I was shocked to find out he was male. All Omniscients are female.

"He used his Foresight and showed Vasreveilder the future. He saw a disaster that would eventually fall upon Spheraphase."

I felt a small chill run down my spine.

"What kind of disaster?"

"Natas never explained the details, dear Omniscient."

"Typical Omniscient behavior," Veneri muttered.

"But Vasreveilder believed him so he prepared. He began creating contingency plans for the future and the survival of the world."

"That explains a lot of strange structures across Spheraphase."

Griselda gave him an approving nod.

"You're perceptive, handsome Aeterium. Anyway, the first thing he did was fake his death."

I stared at the golden goose for a long moment after she casually announced that one of the most important historical deaths in Spheraphase was apparently fake. Veneri and Elyonari were both looking at Griselda with the exact same stunned expression I probably had.

"You're telling us that Vasreveilder didn't actually die?"

Griselda tilted her head and gave me the most unimpressed look a goose could possibly produce.

"Did you really believe that?"

"Yes?"

"Think about it logically, Omniscient. Why would a Supreme Entity die protecting a realm that he himself created?"

I opened my mouth but closed it when I didn't have an answer. I looked at Veneri, who frowned slightly.

"That is... a valid point."

Griselda continued speaking, sounding almost amused.

"Supreme Entities are extremely difficult to kill. If Supreme Entities died that easily, then Spheraphase and Mintherenia would have died ages ago."

The story really didn't make sense. We all stayed silent for a few seconds while that implication settled into our minds.

"His Omniscient betrayed him, by the way. She cheated on him."

The room went quiet again. I couldn't stop myself from asking.

"I'm sorry. Did you just say cheated?"

"Yes."

"With who?"

"With the World."

"You're going to need to elaborate."

"Vasreveilder and his Omniscient were lovers."

That alone was surprising. Omniscients weren't exactly known for forming relationships. But hey, I'm in love with Veneri so...

"At some point, his Omniscient formed a connection with Spheraphase itself and she had a child. The entire world knows that child. Axia."

Axia? The Supreme Entity that monitors and regulated nearly every living being on Spheraphase? Of course everyone knew her name. Everyone acknowledged the presence of the World System. She was the silent observer of all beings in the world.

"And she's the daughter of the Omniscient and the planet?"

"Correct, Omniscient. This happened before the Krepsunas invaded the Hidden Citadel."

"So the betrayal happened first."

"Yes. When the Krepsunas eventually entered the Citadel, Vasreveilder used the chaos as an opportunity to disappear. He staged his sacrifice, left the Hidden Citadel entirely and came to Spheraphase. That would have been easy for a Creation Supreme Entity so he simply sealed his memories."

That made Elyonari blink.

"He erased his own memories so that he could live as someone else?"

"Yes."

The idea was strangely brilliant. A Supreme Entity hiding from the universe by becoming ordinary. Huh.

"He eventually met someone, the Deity of Energy. She found him wandering without memories so she took him in. She didn't know what he truly was."

I leaned against the treasure chest behind me while imagining the situation.

"They fell in love. They eventually had two children. A son and a daughter."

She looked directly at Veneri.

"The son was named Dilasyus and the daughter... she's not remembered anymore."

Veneri froze completely. Griselda continued calmly, completely ignoring his amazement.

"Eventually the First Generation Deities discovered that Vasreveilder was still alive. They found him but they knew they couldn't defeat him."

That part made sense. If Vasreveilder was truly the strongest Supreme Entity, confronting him directly would have been suicide, even without his memories.

"So they targeted his family instead. They killed the Deity of Energy and his daughter. At that moment, somehow, his sealed memories returned. All the First Generation Deities had come for him, even several Supreme Entities. So he ran. If he fought them, he would lose his son too."

That made sense. Even the strongest being in the world couldn't protect someone while fighting multiple Supreme Entities. Griselda looked directly at Veneri as she explained.

"He remembered why he sealed his memories in the first place."

Veneri's expression slowly turned to realization.

"It was part of a plan, wasn't it?"

"Yes. The plan was for him to lose his memories. He had to meet the Deity of Energy, fall in love and have a child."

"So the entire relationship was engineered by his past self?"

Griselda didn't sugarcoat it.

"Yes. That realization destroyed him. He realized that his former self had used the woman he loved to create a child meant to save the future. He no longer felt worthy to raise that child. So he took the boy somewhere safe. He asked Mintherenia to raise the child and she agreed."

"So my father grew up under the World Tree."

"Correct. And after that, Vasreveilder returned to the Hidden Citadel. His first plan worked. The plan to create a child capable of saving Spheraphase from the First Generation Deities was already set. So this time, he made a second plan."

I already knew where this was going. Griselda looked directly at Veneri.

"This time, the savior wouldn't be his son. It would be his grandson. In this case, it's you, Vastarael Richinaria."
