"Please, forgive us." Samantha pleaded. She wished Evelyn wouldn't come to hate them.
If they had let Evelyn go then, she wouldn't have gone through all the pain she had endured.
This guilt was something they came to bear as they watched the young girl suffer.
But Evelyn shook her head, gripping both of their hands tight.
"No, I don't hate you. You are my mother and father. I don't care about what happened." She said, tears spilling from her own eyes.
The couple had always loved her. They were the only ones she had known ever since she could remember.
Even though she would have had another family if they had given her up back then, but now, she already loved them too deeply to blame them.
The couple smiled fondly, filled with heartache.
"Eve, the necklace holds the answer to knowing your real family. Find them. We don't want you to suffer." Adam said.
Evelyn's birth family definitely had a lot of money. If Evelyn found them, her life wouldn't be bad.
